I have mixed opinions from the food here, I had a curry chicken with rice, which was ok although there was barely any sauce. Also, I tried the mutton soup, only 2 pieces of meat on the bone, along with plantain, and a dumpling for £16 seemed a bit steep. On another occasion I tried the Red Bean soup, which was superb! Service was not fussed too.

After my 3rd visit the quality of the food has remained consistently high. The service (take away, eat-in and online) is what one would expect in a busy kitchen. A relaxed multicultural atmosphere adds to a pleasurable experience throughout.

Ordered mutton curry twice in the past 2 weeks both times sent the wrong food sent me peppercorn steak, it was stupidly spicy, in the end I went there today because they forgot certain foods yesterday after failing to answer the phone. Anyway went there today as they forgot my fries, still even after getting home no chips and no dumplings and the curry mutton is stupidly spicy.

AWFUL.I waited 1 HOUR 30 MINUTES for ONE corneal porridge and ONE festival. The excuse was road works , bear in mind I live 15 mins away and I drive past there everyday on the way to work. The festival was greasy and cold, the porridge was stodgy and way too thick, it was like the texture before you heat it up , even the lid imprint was left on the porridge that’s how COLD it arrived. Very disappointing as I’ve had a fresh cornmeal porridge and festival from here before because it was the only decent thing you can get but now you’ve disappointed me and I won’t be returning. Do better and take pride in your cooking, people pay their good money. £10 wasted.

Always use it on way to work on a Friday afternoon for my dinner. Can’t fault only thing have noticed quite a high rise in price over the last 2 years but also the lack of meat now. Still will be going though but maybe should do some sort of meal deal which includes a meal/drink and festival/dumpling

Great range of food all the time. Polite service too. Parking can be difficult but they do have a few spaces around the back. For the full Jamaican food this is where to go.

Nice flavoured food, I liked with the jerk breast I got. Came chopped up in a rich sauce and was nice. Also ordered curry mutton and stew chicken. Recieved curry chicken instead of mutton so was disappointed there, curry chicken was aslo very oily and had spilt, i also think they could chop the pieces of chicken in half again as they were quite big and overwhelming.Other than that it was and ok meal

I ordered from island spice today off Deliveroo . The food came in good timing but I was notttt impressed with the food at all. The ackee and salt fish was so oily the oil was literally seeping out of the container, the rice tasted like package rice and the jerk chicken was very oily as well I was NOT impressed to say the least and will Not be ordering from there again!!!

Ordered food on app and it took over an hour to arrive this is the second time they did this. On one occassion after waiting an hour the food was sent with the lid off and it spill all over. And even in the shop it takes the longest time to simply warm up your food. They don't answer the phone just let it ring out and when they do its awful customer service.

Ordered oxtail rice and peas 1with no steam veg but ended up with it rice was burnt also ordered 2saltfish flitters only got 1 when called was told it would be sent still not arrived been using this place when it was erdington soup place gone down hill can keep the money for the flitters but I won't be or recommending to anyone or using again shame I can't leave a zero otherwise that's what I would leave
