Excellent shop with lots of original artworks for sale. Very bright and welcoming shop with an ever-changing window display.

During a recent day trip to Stirling I visited a few galleries with a view to them potentially exhibiting my dad's work if I thought the gallery was a good fit.This was the first gallery I passed and after browsing the artwork for 20 minutes while waiting for Josie to finish discussing her recent haircut with two customers (a couple), I mentioned my dad was an artist and I was there on his behalf looking at galleries in the area to get a feel for them. I didn't mention my dad's name (an established artist) and I didn't bring any of his work with me, as I hadn't previously visited the gallery. I was hoping to strike up a conversation to ascertain the type of place it was, works/genres that are popular in the gallery and how things have been since reopening.I asked what their normal markup was for artists, which is a standard industry question. For example, if a gallery doubles the artist's asking price, then the work becomes overpriced, fewer sales are made and neither the artist nor the gallery benefit. Not only did Josie refuse to answer the question, but bizarrely both her attitude and manner became increasingly dismissive, offensive, ignorant and arrogant. It was in such stark contrast to the conversation she had with the couple only seconds earlier that I was left wondering if she had a split personality disorder.At a time when businesses all over the country are struggling due to COVID-19, customer service is now more important than ever. Therefore, it's baffling that someone who's so clearly lacking in people skills and common courtesy would put themselves in a position to deal with the public in the first place, when each individual sale or interaction could be the difference between staying in or going out of business. Reputation is key.The experience left a bad taste in my mouth and so I mentioned it to a local later in the day. Their response was that Josie was well-known in the area for having a bad attitude and showing disdain for members of the public. This came as no surprise, as over the years I've visited dozens of galleries all over the country and Josie's is the worst attitude I've encountered.Whether everyone who works there has a bad attitude or just Josie I don't know. I won't be back to find out, and I'd advise anyone who plans to visit the gallery to drop by on a day when Josie is off. Unless of course you're in the mood for a baffling display of ignorance and arrogance after waiting 20 minutes for Josie to discuss the finer points of her haircut. However, that's an extremely niche target audience.

Nice, wee art gallery with friendly shop assistant

I've spoken to Josie a number of times over the phone but had the pleasure today of meeting her in person. I would absolutely recommend Stirling Art - there are many different pieces in the store, something for everyone! The shop is presented so well and we had a lovely friendly welcome from Josie and then again from her husband Mike. Mike is an incredibly talented photographer and I would really recommend a visit to the store to see some of his works. I cannot wait to revisit and experience again the same warm welcome, kindness and willingness to help. A must visit if you are in the area!

Nice collection of the works of mostly contemporary Scottish artists. It is a pleasure to browse and admire the works. Some of the paintings are limited re-prints and at affordable prices.

really friendly great selection of pictures I bought one last yr big highland coo canvas but didn't have enough money at time so was able to set up payment system which many places don't offer and lady trusted me to keep up with my 2 payment's which I did. so five star rating
