Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Newark-on-Trent

Avoid!Several issues with the service from enterprise Newark:1) car was booked to be picked up at 17:00. We arrived at 16:50 but were then made to wait for 45 minutes until 17:35 to get the car. They then had to do a rush valet in front of us, including topping up the screen wash under the bonnet.2) When we got the car home the car alarm kept going off every time we locked the vehicle. We phone enterprise Newark but they were now closed… after 30 mins on the phone to the 24hr call centre we were told the AA would come out some time between 18:00-22:00. We then had to wait in all evening and cancel our plans3) POOR SAFETY!When the AA eventually turned up at 21:40 the fault was found to be that the bonnet wasn’t properly closed, following then topping up the screen wash. The AA bloke said this was extremely dangerous as they had seen multiple very bad accidents when bonnets had flung open after not being closed properly. Even resulting in death!So in summary, poor service but most importantly poor care and due regard for safety. The Mrs had the car for long motorway drives and due to their lack of care could have had an accident due to the only part closed bonnet!Avoid like the plague!!!

Rang Enterprise to book a van, for today, 12 May. Was all booked in, details taken and was told to goto Newark at 8:30am for pick up. At 17:57 the night before I was called by Newark to say they had no vans available, even though I was booked in and had a reservation? What chance did I have to arrange something else when I was informed so late on? Why was a reservation made if they had no vans? Absolutely terrible customer service.

Really good service, we had a courtesy car and they were really helpful. Even dropped the car to us as there was a small mix up. Brilliant!

What a lovely team Newark Enterprise has! Everyone I have spoken to over the last few months for a car to travel with my company to a car for personal use as mine got hit. Everyone has been so helpful and always happy to help! I didn’t want to downsize from my car and they made sure I had a car that was the same size/bigger than my car. Mel has been there with every car I have hired and is definitely an asset to the team! She has always been around to make sure I am happy and comfortable. Jack, Nathan and Dan have also been very helpful. I can’t express how lovely the Newark team are.Thank you for all of your help!

The staff were accommodating and problem solvers, so on the day you go to pick up, guaranteed transport... Excellent service and extra mile.

Dreadful. The staff at Slough came across as being very friendly but when it came to handing over the car it was down to me to point out the scratches and dents in the car. But when we returned it to the depot in Newark they pointed out that one of the tyres was damaged. Although I had not hit any curbs or bumps on anything else, the staff at the Slough office just insisted it was not damaged when they had handed it over to me. I asked them to check the CCTV and the manager would then see that no one had checked the tyres while we were with them but they would not and just continued to repeat that it was damaged when they handed it over. I am told this is going to cost me an additional £100 even though I know I did not damage the tyre. I will never use them again and would suggest others who do, to double check everything before they take delivery of the vehicle and even video the inspection.

Other enterprise depots should be trained at Newark depot because service was excellent, polite, professional, we picked up a Ford 9 seater. It was immaculate, off we go super drive fuel economy good returned a week later, all good van inspected deposit returned. Can't rate Newark depot highly enough. Thank you once again. Oh and we could take our 2 dogs as well.

I have rented cars from Enterprise all over the world and on occasions from the Newark site. Over the last two years I had issues with this site e.g. turned up after booking being confirmed and then no car etc.On this occasion I was given a Diesel VW golf, all on time and communications was good. The guy who dropped the car off told me that ‘service light is on but has been serviced and add blue is topped up’.79 miles into my journey the car shutdown and was unable to restart. AA called and dropped me and the car off in Huntington, then I made my way to Cambridge to collect the only other hire car available to me from Enterprise.I did make it to my destination later that evening but missed two of my important clients meetings due to this.Other issues was that I was given an electric car, this is fine but around the London area I could not find a working car charging point, this was a real issue to my work schedule.I called many time to see if they could get me into another car however, this never happened and I feel that I would not use Enterprise again.

Got us out a pickle when our car broke down. Great pick up and drop off service from both Glasgow airport and Newark branches. Both went the extra mile to assist, no complaints whatsoever

The team at Enterprise Newark have been amazing especially Mel who has been incredibly accommodating (and patient!) when we’ve chopped and changed from a car to a van and back to a car again in a stressful period of moving from a new location. Thanks Mel to you and your team, nothing is too much trouble, I would highly recommend this company in Newark.
