Liverpool Street Chickens

I came to this shop from a different city a few months ago just for the purpose of buying some chicken as I had heard good things about it. The staff were very helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble for them.When I got back home and cooked the chicken, I was not disappointed. It was the tastiest chicken I had eaten in years. My whole family enjoyed it as well.

My husband and I love the chicken roasters here. They are fresh and delicious and at a good price. The staff is also friendly. They even special ordered us a turkey breast crown for Thanksgiving when we couldn’t find one anywhere else. Highly recommend!

Nice family business that had been running for decades and known for their fresh chickens. I have been shopping there since the era of live chickens. The products are fantastic and services in the past have been amazing. However, the current service and conduct has declined and left to be desired. Though overly friendly by some staff members, however, it is a distraction tactic. At the shop I noted that things weren’t right. but was observant. I purchased 4 roosters which weigh should over 5kg each, or at least 5kg (I had this information from previous shopping years back when I purchased a few rooster and could carry the bag and also the manageress also confirmed this over the phone). Despite the fact that I saw the sizes of the rooster. However, the roosters that I was given weighed, 4.7kg, 3.7kg, 3.6kg and 3.5kg after chopping (I weighed them when I got home). I called the next day to make a complaint; I wasn’t pleased at what had taken place. I was offered a free rooster to compensate. Which had gone some way, however, I had to travel into London to collect it and was not convenient. I picked it up on the next day; though the manageress was still digging her heels. She tried to walk her story back that roosters weigh between 5kg and 3.5kg, which is a big margin (difference) to be the same price. I collected the rooster (weighted 5.2kg; I weighed when I got home) and left. I was going to let it go; only for the manageress to leave me a threatening voice message on my mobile phone; she didn’t use the shop number.It would be a shame if the business discontinues because of unscrupulous behaviour; customers will eventually catch up with the practice.People come to patronise the shop from far and near and it is unethical for customers to be short-changed. I hope that this practice would stop and future customer would experience the same.I hope that this practice will be addressed and stopped.

As London’s last dedicated poulterer, surely this must be the best place in London to buy a turkey. They offer turkey out of season (I still pre-ordered). I’ve bought two Thanksgiving turkeys here now. I’m very pleased with my purchases and will keep coming back. Turkeys have been very high quality.

What a discovery and I live around the corner - how I missed this shop for so long! Fresh chicken cut into portions - magnificent. I'll be back!! Customer service excellent - no fuss.

I love this place. The staff are so helpful and kind. Since the congestion charges have been extended it has been hard to shop here as I am disabled, hen I mentioned this, the nice gentleman offered to meet me by my car beyond the congestion zone with my purchases!I call that great customer service, the lady that works in cubicle taking the payments is always pleasant and accommodating! Great place!
