Brae Lodge Guest House

We chose this B&B for its location for a five night stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Lesley’s homemade goodies were delicious however i missed the shortbread that was advertised to be in our room. I would have liked to have tried it! Maybe next time…

Lesley and Neil were the most hospitable, kind, caring and hilariously funny hosts for our 3 night stay. The room was extremely comfortable and while the guesthouse is outside the city centre it is easily accessible (17-20 min) via the #7 and #37 buses with stops just metres from the guesthouse. Breakfast was a tour de force as Lesley is a wonderful chef (ably assisted by Neil) and daily provides a different specialty along with a choice of delicious cooked breakfasts – the full Scottish is not to be missed. Not enough superlatives to describe our stay and cannot recommend highly enough; would give 10 stars if we could.

I had such a lovely stay at Brae Lodge. Lesley and Neil are fabulous hosts, they were so kind, pleasant and accommodating. While located a little outside of city centre, Brae Lodge is situated on a very well serviced bus route which makes getting in and out of downtown" very easy. I typically opted to walk (~45 minutes) as that's a great way to stop in at different places and get a feel for a city. The food was DELICIOUS

Stayed here in May 2022. Lesley and Neil are the perfect hosts, very knowledgeable and willing to assist in whatever way they can. Lesley is a great chef. We tried different breakfast options each day and our tastebuds were not disappointed. Our rooms were en suite and extremely comfortable. Our hosts paid careful attention to ensure all Covid protocols were followed. The B&B is very conveniently located close to a bus stop for easy access to downtown Edinburgh. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

Lesley and Neil helped make our short stay in Edinburgh a success. The welcome was warm, the room was sober but equipped with every comfort and the full breakfast was enough to get us through the day.Many thanks also for the restaurant tips. The Old Bell-pub and the Indian restaurant Pataka were a perfect end to our day.

Lesley and Neil are wonderful hosts. We had wonderful breakfast daily. They helped us get around town and provided advice. Lesley is an amazing chef with daily breakfast special and sweet treats. If she ever decides to do an online baking class, we are there!!! The location is really close to public transportation.. the 3 of us stayed in the larger room. There was enough space for us and we each got our own bed, which was amazing and greatly appreciated, especially with the jet lag. If you are looking for a quiet bed and breakfast with good people, look no further, this is it! Thank you, Neil and Lesley for a wonderful stay, good food, great sweet treats and good memories!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Brae Lodge Guest House! Neil and Lesley were fantastic, friendly hosts. The breakfasts were delicious. Two bus lines are just outside the door #7 and #37 that could take us to and from Old Town. It is also walking distance to some nice pubs. We stayed in several B and B's at our time in Scotland and this was my favorite. The bathroom is a little dated but otherwise the bed, pillows and sheets were all super comfortable and the hosts were delightful!

A beautiful guesthouse. We had a big room with a fluffy carpet and a great view. All the essentials and more are provided. The hosts Leslie and Neil are really lovely people. Leslie makes the best breakfast, everything freshly homemade and delicious, while Neil is tending to the guests. There is a variety of à la carte breakfast options or the daily special you can choose from. They are also both very funny so you will for sure have a good start to your day with a good breakfast and a good laugh.Different buses will bring you to the city centre in about 10-15 Minutes. I am a big fan of Edinburgh's public transport in general. It is very intuitive and easy to use.We really enjoyed our stay and if come back to Edinburgh one day we hope that there is a free room for us at the Brae Lodge.Only thing to keep in mind (especially when from germany) is that there is no Klobürste :D

A very warm welcome from hosts Lesley and Neill. A most comfortable stay with novel breakfast choices. Lesley does her own baking too. Easy front of house parking. Highly recommended and we’ll be back.Bazza and Caz.
