St Helens Central Library

No longer a library, council offices.

I'd like to go here if I could...unfortunately, it was closed by the inadequate St Helens Council last year for repair, even though there was nothing wrong with it and I walk past every Saturday and never see anything being done to it. No way the library needs millions of pounds to fix it-just admit you want the town to be illiterate, because you're terrified of the thought of someone being cleverer than you(although those people must already be in bountiful supply).

Harry Potter book night what a great night,My grandaughter Keira loved it holding snakes and creepy insects. A lot of hard work by all the staff on the night Well done and thank you.

A tired & old collection of books. Whilst it may have been updated to accommodate new computer facilities, I do not believe it has public wi-fi for your laptop/tablet/mobile. The staff clearly aren't happy in their work & one in particular berated me for moving a chair! The sooner they realise that this is a public place & is paid for by the public the better. It is no wonder libraries across the country are closing if this is how the public are treated when they choose to frequent such premises. All in all a poor show by St. Helens Council staff.

Friendly staff, children enjoy picking and reading books, good collections for adults
