Visited Blackberry Bakery today, was a really lovely environment! Was served by Jane. Went above and beyond for myself and my baby! Offered alternatives. Nothing was an issue for Jane, even got a highchair for me out!Thank you for a lovely time, I will be back :)

Very nice bakery. I had the banana nut cake and the gingerbread pumpkin cake. Both were delicious. Nice selection of breads and cakes. Cookies looked alright. Staff was efficient if not overly friendly. To be fair we were there later in the day and might have just been tired.Looking forward to trying the bread.

Looking at this place a lot as we passing the road almost everyday and keep talking about will try it. And finally on Saturday morning after our groceries shopping trip we decided to have a brunch here.And YES it was a right decision. I ordered the mushroom and cheese toast plus chai latte and my husband ordered bacon BAP and americano coffee. That was simple but SO TASTY..I am impressed when i asked for a chai (which not on the menu that morning) but the Lady on the tilt and the young Man was kindly offered to check what they can do and they did it.. i had a Chai.. yeyyyy!!!Staff were friendly and helpful. The bakery and cakes displayed was just mouthwatering. Great locations by the main street. Great homemade bread and stories as well by the pictures on the wall.I and my husband are willing to wait until the staff are having a bit gap from servicing to be able saying Thank You..As we lived nearby we'll definetely come back..

I have been into the bakery numerous times for food and it never fails to impress! The bakery is clean the staff are friendly and efficient. It is an overall lovely place to eat. Highly recommend this place to anyone

I have recommended this bakery several times, but feel the standards of service are failing. I went today for a coffee cand cake, they were getting ready to close in about 30mins so gave the coffee in a disposable cup. I was okay with this as it must be hard closing on time and serving - but I was not made welcome. Not given a stirrer, and had to ask, a few minutes later I was asked if I had finished yet - I hadn't and it was still not closing time. I was overcharged for the cake by 50p as well. I pointed it out and nothing was done, instead I was told by the grumpy staff member it was the correct price. I pointed out the price tag on the cake stand and she just took it away, going into the kitchen and asking - when did the bread pudding to down in price? But I was ignored without any refund or credit given.I will no longer recommend and would suggest a better service is given at most other coffee shops.

The artisan breads as well as the fresh cakes are incredible from The BlackBerry Bakery. Alongside perfect service, affordability and fantastic coffee, truly not one to miss when exploring Colchester!The fact they are locally owned and independent is a bonus! #supportlocal

Just popped in Saturday morning for a coffee. Also got a bacon roll, a sausage roll and a little raspberry merangue. Everything was really satisfying. A lovely place to sit down for a coffee&cake, will be going back for breakfast soon. We sat at one of the tables but would like to test the funky yellow armchairs next time!
