Born 2 Birth

My husband and I had private hypnobirthing lessons with Louisa at the end of 2021. She was calming, reassuring and a great advocate who gave us the confidence to approach the birth of our son with the best mindset possible. She brings her personal experiences in an effective way and helps you to focus on the evidence to encourage you to have the best birth experience possible, whatever form that takes, from planned caesarean to natural home birth.Checking in with her over the weeks made us feel prepared - we did a LOT of preparation. Incredibly valuable for this preparation was the book and mp3s that Louisa shared. I listened to the affirmations and visualisations every day in the weeks leading up to the birth and could call on Louisa for advice and support when I needed.In February we delivered our baby at home in the most perfect and beautiful experience. I was able to manage my pain so effectively using hypnobirthing techniques that we didn’t realise how far along my labour was. Suddenly it was time… We didn’t give the midwife enough warning to come to our house, and my husband and I ended up delivering our baby ourselves before the midwife arrived! We felt calm, safe and in control (even though we would never have dreamed of not having a trained medical professional present). Without Louisa and the hypnobirthing preparation that we undertook this could have been a terrifying experience. Instead we took it in our stride and felt empowered and confident. It was incredibly special.

Louisa at Born 2 Birth was approachable, knowledgeable, informative, and put myself and my husband at ease throughout each season. The course prepared us for my home birth (and it was my first birth!), it gave us lots of practical strategies and helped us to feel in control of our birthing experience.

I have just finished my course with Louisa this week. Before I started I felt very unprepared and didn’t know too much about what to expect during labour. Over these last few weeks I have learnt so much and I feel so much more confident, relaxed and prepared for the birth of my baby boy! I’m really look forward to using all of the techniques I have learnt during my labour. I honestly couldn’t recommend this course enough!

Louisa was an invaluable source of help and information in the lead up to the birth of our second child. We, or rather, I was a little less prepared in the lead up to the birth of our second child, and Louisa was incredible accommodating with both the speed and detail she went through the course. She is very friendly and approachable, and this led to a very valuable outcome from our sessions together.I would wholeheartedly recommend Louisa to anyone needing a guiding or helping hand. Wise Hippo is very accessible (MP3 music still being played a lot!), and does not require you to be experienced in hypnotherapy. It is just a very good program (and in our experience, delivered very well by Louisa) to help calm and relax, and focus on the important things about child birth. Definitely helped us have 'the right birth on the day'. Thank you Louisa!

Attended Louisa's relaxation sessions before my baby was born, I found them very helpful and informative. Louisa also checked in on via email and sent me information and useful links. I would highly recommend Born 2 birth, Louisa is very thoughtful and goes out of her way to help.

I can't recommend Born 2 Birth and Louisa highly enough. I'd heard a lot of positive things about hypnobirthing prior to taking her course, but was worried that I wouldn't be able to engage fully (relaxation is not one of my strong points!). One session in, however, and I was a convert. Louisa combines straightforward, no-nonsense guidance about preparing to give birth with a sensitive understanding of just how unique the process is for every mum and their birth partner. Her explanations of hypnobirthing made complete sense and and each session was followed up with extra resources and practice material to help reinforce the course content. By week 4, my whole approach to birth had shifted. Whatever happens when our little boy arrives in August, I know I have a toolkit of techniques to help me focus, relax, and look forward to the birth experience - not words I associated with birth before meeting Louisa!
