Josh is intuitive, generous, a very clear communicator and an excellent designer. He has helped us develop a whole house plan to decrease the carbon use of the house whilst improving the living spaces. He very carefully listened to our briefs, explained all costs clearly, and has been an excellent advisor on how to navigate this process. His design is thoughtful, beautiful and practical. Josh designed a garden studio office for us at the rear of our Redland terraced house adjacent to an existing garage. He was very responsive to our specific design needs; to create a working space that was functional, warm and aesthetic. Through several careful iterations Josh produced a stunning design that fully met the brief, to create a fabulous studio. The light, warmth, ventilation and utility of the space are exceptional. We would certainly enlist his services again for any future design and build project.

Josh’s enthusiasm was infectious and the quality of the final design is phenomenal - we ended up with a house that suits us perfectly, is extremely energy efficient and is better than we had ever hoped for. The project passed planning with just three minor amends and the entire build came in on time and on budget. I am sure this is at least partly down to how Josh listened carefully to our requirements from the start and kept them in mind when creating the final plans.

This was our first time using Josh @ Greentrace and he was great. We are in the process of building 6 houses in Bristol and he refined the designs making them more buildable, the layouts more sensible and houses more attractive. We recently employed Josh Wood to design a small house at the bottom of our garden. After meeting with 4 different architects we were impressed by his knowledge, commitment to our project and personable manner. We are so pleased that we commissioned Josh. He came up with a highly imaginative design for a very tricky site. His understanding of local planning requirements is excellent. At every step he crafted a design that would increase the likelihood of getting planning permission in our conservation area.
