Chapter 22 Roots & Records

Two stars simply for the aesthetic but unfortunately zero stars for the terrible interaction, with I assume owner, who snapped at me and then walked off! Will absolutely never return as I left feeling genuinely upset. I’d asked for help with a dry flower arrangement and even complimented her displays saying that’s the kind of look I’m after. “Well I’m not taking anything out of that display.” was the delightful response to that. 1. I didn’t ask or expect you to take anything from your display and 2. Your shop is a shop, not a museum. Everything else I pointed out prior to that hadn’t been priced up yet which didn’t bother me as I was happy to come back another day. But looking back, why be so difficult?! Who doesn’t want to make a sale in these times?! Real shame as wanted to love this place.

Nice local shop with mostly pre-owned vinyl records with some new ones. A fab collection of pot plants, a small cafe and flower shop.

Wonderful three slices of shop layered like a flat cake. Beautifully lush and almost Amazonian at the front. Venture further and there's the vinyl section and coffee and nibbles emporium. The final slice is a superbly unpretentious area for drinking very nice coffee and naughty cakes, with listening booths as well.Get your butts moving and keep this place going please. We only visit Bath a couple of times a year and this is on our list of favourite regular haunts.

oh I love it here. Plants, records, coffee and listening stations ☺️ seems to be a sell what they have record shop instead of a potential sell to demand and I respect that - not a rumours or AM in sight (nothing bad about the albums! I’m a Stevie and Alex gal all the way!!)

I'm all for supporting independants but didn't enter because of a rather unfriendly sign outside which states 'We aren't a museum or pretty photo opportunity'. Getting people through the door is surely the goal, how else might they see something they want to buy? Discouraging customers is not the way to go!

An aesthetic dream, and should be rewarded for that. Vintage tunes and the smell of plants with a cafe to sit in. Quiet and charming, entirely. The outside is gorgeous, but go be lured inside too and have a nice drink! Vinyl... Plants.... Cafe.... What's not to love?

The coolest coffee, vinyl and plant shop I've ever seen. Great coffee, outstanding vinyl selection (live music too!!) and it's like all this takes place in midsummer nights dream because you're totally surrounded by the most amazing plants and blooms!! Wild!

Disappointing experience today. I was shopping for plants and records and part way through my daughter needed the toilet. I was told that she wasn’t able to use the customer toilet unless I purchased a coffee, despite the fact that we very clearly had the intention to buy other items in the shop. We left and the store lost about £60 of sales. Strange policy. What made it stranger was that the guy knew I was bringing my wife and kids to the store as he helped us with directions, but somehow a child using a customer toilet was an issue. Weird. Two stars because the store had things we wanted to buy, but I can’t recommend the place because of the odd interaction. Never mind, there are other places in Bath to buy records and plants.

It's a lovely little shop selling plants and records. Also holds intimate concerts for up to 50 people, one of which we were privileged to watch.

Ridiculously expensive and not a very good selection of vinyl on offer. Would not recommend for serious record buyers. Made to feel very unwelcome which is a shame as we would’ve spent money had the owner not had such a bad attitude. My teens were very excited and impressed with the ambience and took some photos to show their friends. We were told off which I find strange as surely a bit of advertising is good for the shop?? Very rude and unpleasant owner.
