A beautiful church outside the city walls to the south of the city of York.Dedicated to the English Martyrs, many of whom suffered a few hundred yards away at the York Tyburn on Knavesmire grasslands. Including the elderly Nicholas Postgate.The church has a beautiful martyrs shrine and holds several relics including the jaw bone of Blessed Nicholas Postgate.St Margaret Clitherow Yorks famous daughter and pearl is commended by a portrait in the church and a statue street side of the church hall.The parish priest is a warm and welcoming man and the church is a place of peace and quiet near a busy road.

We catered for an event here the other day. The venue is excellent. We love catering here when we get the chance. From Tea on the Green in Acomb.

I have to say that it is one of the finest examples of Romanesque Churches I have come across, I have seen a few in my time.Austere but beautiful.And Father John comes across as a very nice chap.
