Centre for Clinical Haematology

The entrance is via steps or ramp. Both options are very steep thus very tiring for people who are already unwell. As a wheelchair user, I find it extremely hard to get up and down the ramp without help and im not as elderly or as unwell as some that have to attend here.The admin and all medical staff are very friendly, knowledgable, helpful and empathic. The specialist nurses are amazing. They offer support and guidance, provide appropriate information and manage to make each patient feel important. The building is bright, fresh, clean and relaxed. There is a drinks machine in the main waiting room which relies on donations to fund it so it's really frustrating to see some visitors who aren't even the cancer patients, helping themselves to several drinks and not paying a penny to the kitty. Shame on them! There are also people who don't seem to know the concept of a bin. Well to those people.... the nursing staff have a hard enough job looking after sick people without having to clean up after people who are only inflicted with arrogance, selfishness and laziness!!When the waiting room is busy, being in a wheelchair, it's difficult to get past the rows of feet and legs strewn around the room whilst enroute to or from your consultation. The aisles are a bit tight in places.Thank you to all the staff in haematology who make a difficult place to have to be, an easier experience

Sometimes gets too busy (so distancing becomes difficult) but it's a friendly professional service

I actually have to go once a year to have blood taken and take in a urine sample for testing! This is not a shop, it is part of the QE in Birmingham...
