Just had a delicious lunch. We walked in on the off-chance and with two dogs. Excellent friendly service and delicious food. Clean and light, nice ambience. Would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thursday evening meal today:ate up delicious sea bass, beef & ale pie (meat was tender), and the child's fish & chips with peas was excellent & served early for her. Nothing was too much trouble. The 2 varieties of beers were excellent as was the Sauvignon Blanc wine. Also the chocolate sundae and sticky toffee pudding with custard couldn't have tasted better - will definitely visit again.

I am updating my 4 star review of a year ago after another stay at this hotel and upgrading it to 5 star. Very comfortable two night stay this time. Excellent pub food and great value when you book the dinner inclusive option. The full English breakfast is one of the best I have had anywhere. Bruce and his staff are friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. The hotel is particularly dog friendly. Although some of the changes introduced under the new ownership by Red Cat might not be to everyones's liking, I think that keeping up such a good level of comfort, service and value for money in these challenging times is to be highly commended. The 9 rooms are all comfortable, well equipped and kept in excellent condition. Great atmosphere in the bar, nice outdoor dining area, plenty of space in the car park. Small quiet village but just a few minutes drive from Heacham, Hunstanton and the North Norfolk Coast.

Went on Monday evening without booking and we were greeted and made to feel very welcome by both Bruce the landlord and his customers.A good range of beers and real ales which were kept very well.Despite not booking we were able to be seated almost immediately for a meal. A very good pub style menu with lots of local ingredients. Good service by both Bruce and his staff and the food arrived quickly. The food was extremely well cooked and presented and was good value for money. We will definitely visit again very soon.

We have been and eaten here a few times over the summer. Bruce and the team are doing a great job and working hard to pull this venue back up to where it belongs. The food has been consistantly good, presented well and perfectly cooked. We have sampled the menu range too. Drinks were also good, plenty of choice. Front of house, meet and greet were spot on every time, service was crisp and well organised, really nice to see a warm welcome and friendly service. This was a marked improvement over the last owners. The place was clean and fresh looking. We havent stayed in the hotel aspect of the venue, so cannot comment on that. Everywhere we visited including the toliets were clean and tidy. It is clear when speaking to the locals who use the venue a lot, speak highly of the new owners and team running the place and acknowledge the hard work going in from Bruce and his team to turn the place around. I / we would recommend you visit here for a meal if passing. If you've been before some time ago and not had a great time, give this place another go. Well done Bruce and the team, keep up the hard work. We hope to pop back in very soon.

BRUCE INGLES the Manager/Inn Keeper makes the King William IV Country Inn a warm and welcoming place to visit whether you're popping into the pub, having a meal or booked into the accommodation. He is relaxed and friendly whilst being professional and attentive, and must be the hardest working Inn Keeper I have ever encountered.Location of the King William is central to most places and just a couple of miles from the coast without the accompanying high prices. It is situated on a through road but traffic is not heard inside nor in the room I occupied.Plenty of parking available and a garden with seating at the back of the property.Restaurant serves large portions, is moderately priced (£15 for a large beef burger and chips) and, very sensibly, has a separate dining area for those of us with dogs. The entire property is dog friendly.Accommodation is what you would expect for the very reasonable price.Sturdy pine furniture, but good quality bed linen, decent toiletries in the bathroom and tea & coffee making facilities.Bathroom: Clean. A bath you can actually take a bath in as there's a plug. Shower and bath, hot water and good water pressure even at peak times. My personal preference is for a softer mattress and soft pillows and these were, for me, uncomfortably hard. I brought my own pillows in from my car.Overall, I rate the King William highly because of the exceptional management and good value for money.

Thursday lunch time for four friends everything freshly cooked only problem was resolved quickly. Staff were friendly polite and attentive. Our only quibble was no drinks menu on table so had not realised the steep prices of the drinks. Although this was partly our own fault as we didn't ask for one.

Went to the sedgeford king William Saturday night 12/8/23, not happy in the slightest, to start our group booking was made in correct as the establishment contacted our party lead name saying we had a reservation for 6pm and was late, when in fact it was for 7pm , were seated late, the bar manager when approached said he was waiting for us, but the fact no staff came to us had escaped his mind, we then sat waiting for 20 minutes before our order was taken, the orders arrived in good time and as requested, during the meal we sat with empty glasses and was not approached for a refill, we had to stop a waitress to get a drink and that obviously was troubling the girl as she really didn't want to take a drinks order, we were offered a desert but declined, within ten minutes the bar manager slapped our tab on the table, we didn't request the bill it just appeared, abruptly.. this was 9.00pm , we got up from our table and went to the bar, ordered a round of drinks and paid our tab, as we are local to the area born and bred, we met some old acquaintances and stood chatting, ordered two whiskeys , around 9:40pm at 10:02 requested two more and the bar manager said I'm closed and tilled up, we close at 10pm ! Looking slightly bemused our acquaintance agreed, yes he said he closes at 10:00, there was easily 15 people in the establishment with seated diners and drinkers in the bar, in a Saturday night... Obviously there is way too much money in hospitality at sedgeford? Considering the staff were unmotivated, the bar manager was not only too full of his own importance, but I found him rude and ignorant, there was a small family staying the night with a unruly yapping dog, that the owners were oblivious to its constant barking at anyone that moved, numerous diner's asked to be relocated, one mid meal as plates of half eaten food where transported by us to a vacant table, yet as manager he clearly was to frightened to request the animal be removed from the public area, and rather he would upset his paying guests, obviously of the mind set that each and everyone was a tripper and will never be seen again so no need to bother, more a case of I have your money so go sooner than later and if the yapping dog drives you out before 10pm the better for me attitude. Safe to say this will be the last visit to a pub I have frequented for 40 years, and if this is the standard set by the Red Cat Pub Company, then once bitten twice shy of any other red cat establishments.
