I've only had a few days here but Parkland Place Lancashire is beautiful. All the staff are amazing and can't do enough for you at any time of day or night. The food is great and thanks to both Pete and Haydn the chefs. Also a special thank you to Nicki the nurse and Jason one of the support workers who both spent time with me and really helped me.ThanksRW

I spent 11 weeks at Salus, which came to an end about 2 months ago. I'm an addict and I'm aware that I always will be, whether in recovery or not, but the knowledge and understanding of addiction I gained at Salus was life changing. The staff are amazing and are truly passionate about recovery; they are compassionate, considerate, fair and honest. They all have different strengths and varied experience, which I found reassuring, and are always willing to take the time out to give their support, or even just listen to you when you need to get something off your chest. The grounds are spacious and picturesque, adorned with greenery and the odd deer. The bedrooms are comfortable and warm with plenty of storage space for clothes, toiletries etc.I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food is delicious and in keeping with a balanced diet (special dietary requirements are also acknowledged).Rehab isn't a quick fix and you have to be willing to put in some work and to listen if you want to start your recovery here, but I couldn't think of a better place to do so. Salus helped me regain my self esteem and showed me that addiction doesn't have to rule my life. It gave me the tools I needed to become a better version of myself; a more considerate partner, son and friend. If you want treatment in a safe, welcoming environment, with qualified and honest staff who will do all in their power to help you, then Salus may just be the place for you.

I have been here four times in total. The last time for me I am knew that my life had to change for not just myself and my loved ones but also for the team of amazing staff that work here. They make you feel at home and everyone of them are unique in their in own ways and spend all the time with you to help you overcome the demons in your mind/body. Thank you all at Salus.

I have been through the salus/parkland detox and rehabilitation twice once in 2019 and again in 2020/21 I would highly recommend this place I was a paying customer and could not fault any of the nursing staff they were all extremely caring and compassionate to my needs as i ws heavily addicted to alcohol at the time and if you know you know how bad it can be this place has saved my life I am now 2yrs addiction free and have a new lease of life I cannot repay my gratitude enough thankyou to all staff members past and present. Kind regards David Owen

I came to salus for the second time just under a year ago as I know I would be looked after. I was broken and very poorly and had a heroin and crack addiction. The staff were amazing and tailored to my individual needs. I was very thin weighing 5st 9 so the chef would go out of his way to make me fattening smoothies and fattening food to help build me up. The manager Debra is a wonderful caring compassionate lady. All the staff were amazing and cared without judgement. I would highly recommend this place if you need to detox before going to rehab or if you aren't going to rehab. I must stress salus is a detox centre not a rehab and the staff are trained to medically detox patients from substances they do try to have group therapy but not everyone is well enough to take part but they do try to encourage that with patients. I noticed a review complaining there was no therapy etc salus is a detox that detoxes patients before rehab! If you aren't able to go rehab after leaving then I suggest you attend Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous meetings regularly which I do and I am still clean almost a year later and plan on staying clean. Would highly recommend salus to anyone who needs this service!

I entered Withnell Hall last November a total shell of myself I was virtually on death's door. After my time in Detox I moved over to the Rehab. Wow what a life changing experience it was. I have been in Rehabs before. This was a totally different experience for me, I really took on board everything I was taught. The entire staff are fantastic and a real credit to the place. All staff right from the top are trained in all aspects of their roles and take a genuine interest in your recovery. They are knowledgeable and professional , whether it be in groups, 1 to 1 chats, community meetings or keyworking sessions. The house itself is very clean, as are the bedrooms. The staff will not DO it for you. You have to put the hard work in but they are 100% behind you all the way, guiding, helping and encouraging you to succeed. I left Withnell Hall a totally different person than the one when I went in and I can not recommend Salus more highly.

The staff, nurses and chef are brilliant here. They checked on me regular 24/7 and if I was struggling they were there for me. The medication was on time everytime. The group work was very helpful. Me giving my story and listening to others. I definitely think Pete the chef should get a pay rise. He was consistently good at his job. Great food everytime.Added note. The rooms you get when you first arrive need updating. They do the job but they need some work. The rooms you move onto however when you do not need so much monitoring are very good. This is the second time I've been to this detox. I was a paying customer so that im guessing says it all because i could have gone elsewhere but didnt. Hopefully this is the last time i ever have to go there. Obviously for my own health. The staff here are the best! Except a couple of moody staff members but on a whole the rest were great.

I attended Salus in October 2021 and stayed for two weeks. All the staff were fantastic, professional, hard working and dedicated. They helped me get off prescription pain medication which I’d been on for 13 years. It’s now been a year free of them for which I’m thrilled. I couldn’t have done it without their help. I’ll always be grateful.

Having seeing a recent promotional advertisement regarding Salus Hall, I feel the need to express my experience whilst staying there. My experience at Salus Hall was far from pleasant. I feIt like it was totally unmanaged, relying on random nurses to keep the place going by just giving out drugs 4 times a day for a routine detox program. There was no counselling provided, no therapy given and no guidance from any professional staff during my stay, from which I gained nothing from it at all.It felt to me like just being in a prison. I felt isolated at most times of the day with no form of direction on what was going on with the day to day routine and what was expected of me.I paid £2500.00 for a week just to let a random nurse hand me a few detox tablets 4 times a day.I would personally avoid it like the plague. And In reflection, it did me more harm than good.I tried to voice my opinion which only fell on deaf ears. I felt this company exploits the disadvantaged at their time of need.Upon completing their detox treatment. I felt like they just thrown you a few tablets, sent you home with no aftercare or any information on future support.I feel that Salus group is a money making business that puts money over client’s needs. Since completing my time at Salus, I have heard from other Health Care providers that don’t recommend Salus as a reliable rehabilitation centre. So if you are struggling with any form of addiction, look for alternative roots in coping with your long rehabilitation needs. In my opinion this place will not help you in your long term recovery. This is my personal review of Salus, and only states my opinions and my personal experience whilst staying there. I honestly can say that I would not recommend them to anyone for any alcohol rehabilitation needs.
