Came as a party of 16 for my sister’s surprise 60th birthday meal last night. Absolutely everything was spot on. Service, food, drinks…. Staff couldn’t have helped more to make our evening go as we wished. Well done to the team, very grateful :)

We dined here as a 4 (and 1 doggo) on a Saturday evening. There was a great choice of starters and mains (probably too many to choose from as they all sounded amazing!). The food was brilliant (belly pork a firm favourite) as was the service. The dessert menu wasn’t as big and there wasn’t anything that took our fancy so we opted for a cocktail to finish which was lovely. Thanks team we will be back!

Came here for dinner on a Monday night and Kelly was so friendly and welcoming. They were able to accommodate my allergy and the food was delicious! A new little find for us.Dog friendly in the bar area so we will be back with our four legged friends soonThank you!

Party of 8 , including 2 children. Great prompt service. Great customer service, helpful & very approachable. Family birthday for us along with another family, so was rather loud. This was lovely for us , we all had a lovely time. Food is plentiful with very generous servings , top quality….

Great indoor decor and ambience. Nice layout with space between tables and staff wearing masks (this is posted during Omicron). Friendly staff and clean/polished look about the place. We had the Sunday roast (beef and lamb) and the haddock. Good portions and tasty food, though the rectangular plates were a little awkward (and limited the amount of food on the plate!)

This might have been the best piece of fish & chips I've ever had! Crispy batter that's not too thick, perfectly light and crispy triple-cooked chips. Homemade tartar sauce, half a lemon, and a choice between mushy, garden, or no peas. The salt grinder dispensed the perfectly sized granules for the fish. Overall a lovely dish.EDIT: I should point out that all seasoning is my own.I returned the next day and had the sausage and mash. The sausages were perfect (no gristle, I hate gristle in sausages, so this was nice) and the mash too. Creamy and again, perfect.The music selection is a good mix of mostly pre-millennial pop and at a low enough volume that you can have a conversation normally.

I visited today with my 3 year old and two friends, the whole place is decorated so nicely and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing! Thank you for a lovely visit.

I have recently moved to Ongar in Essex and my family came up to visit yesterday. I was searching for a pub that wouldn't mind us bringing our dogs since my sister wanted to bring her dog up with her..We visited The Leather Bottle for lunch and my family was so impressed with the place.My Mum said it's the nicest pub lunch she has ever had.My sister who works in the food industry couldn't believe how fresh and lovely the food was. It was all delicious.Needless to say my family and I will definitely be coming back here for lunch/dinner again and again.

Visited on the weekend recommended by a car dealer we went to see. A NEW restaurant opened just over a month ago.Food was really nice, decor and atmosphere was great. The service was spot on, friendly and welcoming.Very efficient and little wait time for the food.I had the Lamb dish and my partner had the fish pie. Both tasted lovely!
