Lovely museum in beautiful grounds with a delightful walled garden. My grandfather came from Donaghadee so I found lots to interest me in this museum. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. It has been very well put together and the displays are excellent. I found the Second World War gallery very interesting and accounts of the Americans stationed in the area during WW2. lovely cafe and nice food.

A very well done small museum. Dressing as a monk was fun and there were lots of things for kids to do: costumes, coloring pages and more! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Interesting museum in part of Bangor Castle which focuses on local history from bronze age to modern day. There's a nice exhibition on vikings and there's a replica of a viking longhouse to walk through. There's plenty to keep children interested and the climate change exhibition shows that the museum is keeping up to date with the latest topics of interest. There's a lovely cafe with indoor and courtyard seating and a great little shop to visit. The cafe is open everyday. The museum is free to visit and open everyday except Monday. When you've finished at the museum, you can walk around the Castle Park and the Castle walled garden.

A hidden gem. A few minutes walk from Bangor station, in the opposite direction to the one most people go, towards the Marina, but very worth it. Within it is a fantastic cafe that does a really lovely lunch, with the owner being very personable and eager that you enjoy your break. The museum is within a grand old building itself and is a really interesting insight into the history of the immediate area. Definitely worth a couple of hours of your time.

Visited here again to see another exhibition that was free entry. It is great to view local talent and I only wish we could see more of these events on display. Well done to the crafters involved and to the museum for a wonderful decision

Very friendly staff and a pleasant experience but unfortunately I couldn't get seeing all due to time mine not theirs or I'm sure I would have marked it higher.

Small museum focussing on local history, it is free and very welcoming - and some of the best exhibits are the models (a crannog, a Viking burial, and a monastery complex). Good to while away an hour or two and get a feeling for the area.

Very nice and friendly staff. Kindly introduced museum in details. Surprised to see Chinese treasures and the cafe was wonderful. Tried apple pie really delicious and lemon ginger tea is also very good.
