I Purchased a van through Van base at the end of April. On the day the staff were very helpful and felt like everything went well despite having to wait for the vehicle to go through the workshop for inspection and repairs.Unfortunately after 2 -3 weeks of ownership with only a couple of hundred miles we had a failure of anti pollution system. It had to be taken to our local Renault dealer as fault needed their attention. Which Vanbase agreed to cover the costs of diagnostics check. From this point onwards the service from Vanbase/Carbase has been awful. After diagnostic check it was worked out the van had a few faults more than should be expected and some which were safety concerns that should have been picked up under the multipoint inspection. One of the issues would have been caused by a repair carried out by Vanbase's mechanics. I also pointed out an issue with the light in the rear of the van, the salesman said I would receive a follow up call about this but nothing was said about this prior to the vehicle going to Renault.The main issue was the Ad-blue ecu needed replacing after a week of two of trying to contact Vanbase they agreed to cover cost of the repairs. However they did not agree to having a new ecu. Vanbase supplied a reconditioned ecu from a Vauxhall van. Renault have made clear that because the ecu was from a different manufacture from my van that the ecu software is incompatible and if any updates or repairs need to be undertaken this can't be done so I will have to payout over £900 for Renault ecu in the future.I was without the van for over four months, during the busiest time of year for my business and while my partner was in the later part of her pregnancy. I had made Vanbase aware of the purpose of the van when I explained I was not trading in my old van as I needed a spare one for my employee should I be called away mid job when my partner went into labour and as part of my expansion plans that summer (I have a seasonal business).Vanbase finally settled the invoice with Renault Dealer after the dealer threated to add storage charges and the day after my partner gave birth. This isn't the end of the issue with the van, over five months of 6 months warranty was wasted while the van was parked up waiting for repairs. The Mot had expired by the time I collected the vehicle towards end of October. I arranged to have a mot, which it failed, and had to have £400 on repairs to pass.I've lost income, had to cover the cost on the insurance and road licence-tax for months. Caused undue stress and sleepless nights. We even contacted the credit card supplier to start an application for a section 75 of credit consumer act. However this was unsuccessful as Vanbase would not return emails or calls to the credit card company. We had contacted Vanbase to say we wanted to return the van under the sale of goods act within the 30 day period but never got a response to those communications either.I would urge people to take their money else where or be certain that the vehicle will be problem free prior to purchase (do not rely on the RAC inspection claim as this does not appear to have been done on this vehicle).

They claim vans are checked / inspected as they are an RAC approved dealer. Van had about 10 fault codes stored in ECU some from over 2 years ago. Hadn’t even bothered to delete them!Waited 2 weeks for the van to be prepped and it wasn’t even valetedWas given a pice of paper saying they serviced the van , took it to main dealer for an inspection, turns out oil was so bad that it needed changing and a full service.Supposed to have RAC BREAKDOWN as part of warranty - never got given the code to activate it!They don’t reply to emails or return the phone calls.Ohh and don’t fall for their sales pitch about warranty, it’s not worth the paper printed on.

Great experience all round. Daniel Harris dealt with my purchase & part exchange & was professional & approachable throughout the entire experience. I noticed a trim that needed repairing & Daniel took care of this for me, updating me at every opportunity. When I received the car it had a new MOT/Service & was in great condition. I would definitely recommend Carbase & would use them again to purchase a car. 5 star review - well done.

Buying a van is always going to be one of those purchases you question yourself repeatedly on if you did the right thing with this, that and the other. One thing you won't be wrong on doing is talking with and purchasing from this company. Can't fault it. Not like the old days of the 'dodgy backstreet car/van dealers' just pushing for the best way to line their pockets.
