THE RUBY Chinese Takeaway

This place has horrendous customer service. Having ordered Chinese food once every month since the start of lockdown! My last order was very short of satisfying.Order amounted to over £30 entitling me to a ' Free bottle of Soft drink'. The order arrived with No Drink and missing curry sauce. Immediately contacted Ruby, but owner refused to send one, stating the Special Offer did not apply to Just Eat orders, he refused to give his name and abruptly disconnected the call. Plain rude.No option but to make complaint to Customer Solutions and told would be included in my next order. Epic fail! To spite me, they sent a bottle of Coke Cola with foreign labelling and almost FOUR months out of date. Trading Standards informed. Avoid at all costs!!

Spent over £50 on food and majority of it was stale and tasted weird. Honestly don't waste your money at this establishment. Wouldn't of even paid £10 for the food that was delivered.

Have been ordering from here for years. Over the past year it seems like they are new owners and staff. I have to say this place has gone downhill… it has the worst customer service I have experienced for a long time. I have called to order for collection and they have got it wrong on two occasions and then argued with me stating it was my fault. I am using a Chinese now further away, but id rather spend money with businesses who value my custom.

I have always used this Chinese and so has my family for many years. Today I experienced the worst customer service for many takeaway. I had left a note for the driver to call as the doorbell doesn’t work and my child was poorly and sleeping. I can only describe the noise as my door being kicked, the driver was rude, pushed the food into my stomach, pulled my door shut and stormed away. Absolutely vile. I called the shop and they said sorry we will talk to him. I think a lesson in customer service would be better. I’m not sure if they have new owners but on opening the food the chow mein was cold (I live literally 5 mins away) and chips were undercooked. Complained to just eat and will hopefully get my money back

Ordered a delivery. Said 30 mins.thats OK fine.comes 30 mis later pay and they drive off.open bag missing fried rice.ring them .said not Ordered. I mean who orders a curry with out rice or chips.anyway.they say its on its way £4.10...been waiting over an hr and nothing.ring back and they say the order ain't enough to go and delivery. They've just lost a £1000 a Yr off me.

I thought I would try this Chinese, because it was a black Friday deal. First of all the takeaway was 1 hour late!! Then the food order was wrong as we got 3 bags of chips instead of 2 bags of chips and chicken balls, it was the only thing my son eats other than chips. Food was cold!! Food wasnt the best tasting, ribs were tiny with no meat!! So I was annoyed. So I decided to phone them several times, they didnt answer or it was engaged the whole night. Avoid like the plague to avoid disappointment!! I will definitely pay full price at my local Dragon Court!! Quicker, Tastier, So much better!!

Chips were vile and so over cooked they started to smell like vinegar! Not even the curry sauce could mask how awful they tasted! Not sure why the chicken in the chicken fried rice tasted smoked, the peas in the fried rice were undercooked. Definitely won't be ordering from their again, complete waste of money!

What a faff to ask for a request. My dad wanted a special box and he isn’t fussed over the chips and I thought I’d have them. I asked for them to separate and it seemed an issue and I was told it would be very small.So we ordered an extra portion and the special box he had, had no chips. Nice.Then no mask in the kitchen it seems and when paying he said it was £10 minimum on card then accepted £7.90. But was so moody.Lovely food though. Just get someone good to serve and talk to customers

I hate to have to write a bad review as we’ve used this restaurant in the past and had no problem but something has changed since then.We’ve ordered twice from here in recent months and had HUGE delays on delivery. The first time the food took around an hour and a half when we were told it would be much quicker (30-45 mins). Not an unheard of amount of time for delivery but no effort to manage expectation on delivery by The Ruby.The last time a few days ago we ordered at 7:50pm. We were told the food would be delivered within 30mins but it didn’t turn up for 2 hours. It arrived just before 10pm! I tried multiple times to phone for an update and the line was engaged constantly.Very disappointing.

Very disappointed with our takeaway last night!Driver delivered it and rushed off without taking the cash payment, I didn’t realise at the time as I’d ordered from a couple of takeaways for the family.Went to bed and at just before 11pm my door was being hammered down, door bell being rung and my phone was going off waking the whole house up!I received a text from the driver saying he was outside my house to collect the money he’d forgotten to collect. I told him that we were in bed and I wouldn’t be answering the door out of principal of the way he was hammering it like it was the police.I said I would phone and pay tomorrow what I owed, I’m not gonna leave the country for £15.50!!! The driver sent more texts apologising and then the takeaway themselves rang me which I ignored Cus as I’d told them we were in bed.Today I rang to pay and tell them how annoyed I was about the way the driver was hammering my door late at night.They didn’t seem particularly bothered and more interested in getting the money paid.I certainly won’t be using this takeaway again, first time we’ve used it but really disappointed with their actions!!We also ordered curry sauce with our meal but ended up with a pot of runny brown sauce that did not resemble curry at all, I presume they sent the wrong sauce?!
