Drain Doctor came to my property as I requested a drain survey. This was due to a rodent issue and I'd been advised by pest control to get the drains looked at.I was charged the extortionate amount of £600+ for a drain survey (which isn't anywhere near as extensive as you might think it is) and jet washing of the drain. The survey cost about £280, and the jet washing, which took no more than 10 minutes, was about the same. A minor repair cost another £60.I'm not necessarily complaining about that as I reluctantly agreed to it.I'm annoyed because I shouldn't have paid them anything at all!I've had the water company outwho've advised me that Drain Doctor are NOT authorised to work on these sewers as they're owned by the water company, as all the shared sewers are. Legally, they shouldn't be touching them. They told me that Drain Doctor would definitely have known this and, if they were being prudent and fair, would have advised me to ring the water company first.Drain Doctor didn't do that and took £600+ off me instead.I've sent an email to Neighbourly Brands (they respond to all of Drain Doctor's reviews) who are choosing to ignore my complaint. I want my money back and an explanation.So, for all those reading this, before you ring Drain Doctor for a drainage/sewer problem, check with your water authority first. Otherwise you could end up coughing up a LOT of money unnecessarily.
