Charles Rennie Mackintosh Statue
The memorial, created by Kelpies sculptor Andy Scott, marks the completion of a £60m regeneration project in Anderston.The completed statue weighs three tons, is 2.8m (9ft) tall and sits on a 2.2m (6.5ft) plinth. It shows Mackintosh sitting on the famous high-backed chair he designed for Glasgow's Argyle Street Tea Rooms. The statue faces west from a section of Argyle Street reinstated during the Anderston regeneration.

I like this statue. It’s at the end of my street and has donned several cones (if unfamiliar with this concept trust me that this is a GOOD sign for a statue in Glasgow).It has also had a Santa hat at Christmas and I found this even better than the cones!Finally, someone managed to get a cigarette in his right hand -the one he loosely resting on his leg... it’s all I see now and it makes me giggle... I don’t care if I’m in my mid 30s and not a smoker; that’s a trick!
