Almost two weeks later that's the response you get...'Thank you for your email, and bringing this to our attention.We need to clarify a few of things before we move forward with this, we are sorry to hear about your shattering blows,but may I ask why if you bought the bike on the 23rd August and rode it straight away and you had your first fall why you did not walk straight back into the store and not leave it for a good few days?I have spoken to the staff member that sold it to you and he states that he tightened up the brakes on your request however we are not bike engineers and the bike is second hand?, it is always good to get any 2nd hand product tested before you ride it as advised.So on return the bike was looked at by our bike engineer and you chose to accept an exchange and you paid an extra £40 towards another bike which as a gesture was reduced in price but yet again you were advised to get it checked by a bike engineer before riding it.With regards to the receipt it does not need to state an exchange just that you had a new receipt for the bike that you took and you and we know it was an exchange.Regarding the inspection from the bike shed you are not entirely being truthful as we contacted the bike shed and they stated that they had a look at the bike initially and they only said that the wheels were different (not the same ) which is not a problem again it is a second hand bike and they offered you to book the bike in for a full service which you declined, unless you have the report that you can show us.As you are aware you may, if you desire start legal proceedings and if that happens we will have to hand over to our legal team so they can talk to each other.However in the interim you may exchange your bike in any one of our 3 stores which we do not normally allow but as a gesture of goodwill to you we will allow this.Hope this helps resolve the issue.RegardsSteveOverall Manager.
