Amazing experience! Very pleased and grateful for the support I received from this department. The specialist went above and beyond to make things happen for me; they follow up other medical professionals for appointments, explain my treatment options in a language I can understand and I see genuine care and empathy in practice. Dr Ryan Hun and Dr Ho, you both are exemplary to the profession and the NHS should be proud. Thanks for making me feel comfortable and at ease and thanks for going the extra mile, God bless you and the nurses and staff at the Kellgren clinic staff!

Awful, lack of care is unreal here, I've been waiting for an appointment since January 2022, its now October, they x-rayed the wrong part of my body, you don't feel like they care here at all you are just a patient number to them. I asked my doctor could i be seen else where but it doesn't work like that. Absolutely hate dealing with them you'd have your bones crumble to dust and these wouldn't bat and eyelid

When I was getting worse wth my symptoms, & I'd almost lost my mind, the Kellgren Centre & Dr R. Gorodkin gave me a diagnosis & the rationale behind why I felt so ill. There are an awesome team & the patient is @ the centre of the care. They listen to U & they don't talk @ U.

Having been to hundreds of North West UK hospital appointments with my wife over the years I have become something of an expert! I have to say the entire team at the Kellgren Centre are amazing, friendly, caring, extraordinarily professional and thorough. Dr Parker, Dr Ho and Dr Achieng have been exceptional in the several appointments she has had. The Nurses are friendly and knowledgeable, Bloods Staff extra friendly and the Reception staff and Ms Winterburn, secretary, are super efficient and also incredibly friendly and helpful. What a credit to the NHS this team are!

For the first time in 20 years I felt listened to and understood. There was sympathy understanding and care shown to me by the consultant which was appreciated so much. I now feel I am finally going to the right hospital and this alone helps me feel supported for the first time for many years. The hospital is run with a high degree of efficiency and care to its patients. I found my first visit very impressive and staff were pleasant and kind and exceptionally helpful. Thank you to everyone involved with my consultant and special thanks to the wonderful doctor who saw me face to face to discuss my challenging health issues.

Very poor consultation. The junior Dr seemed to want to fob me off. I really feel that it’s unacceptable to tell ANY patient their symptoms are due to their age! Having a definitive diagnosis of an autoimmune illness, I think this shows lack of empathy and compassion to say the very least! The Junior doctor also dismissed the fact that my kidneys are operating at 45 percent ( with recent reduction.Very disappointing and to be honest upsetting, having waited for so long for this appointment!

Over 2 years and could not get through to the doctors I saw how my leg stiffness was impeding daily life. Kept sending me off to orthopaedics and physio which felt like kicking the can down the road. Yes meds were changed but when they didn’t work after 6 months no discussion on next plan. Saw different doctors each time who had clearly not read my notes so had to explain again that I had had scans already when yet again they wanted to send me to orthopaedics who had already told then it was inflammation of the joint and surrounding muscle. They routinely forgot to put in notes sent to my gp that I was not just complaining of joint pain but all the muscles in my legs stiffening and when they sent me to Physio they even got the wrong leg because of a mistake in notes from the nurse so I had to correct that. Finally took my husband for support because he couldn’t understand why I was not improving and he saw how little the consultant listened or even explained the treatment plan. Eventually asked my GP for a second opinion from Professor Bruce but was not offered him and so decided to go to another recommended rheumatologist in another hospital who has done more in one appointment to understand and explain next treatment and seemed really interested in how it was affecting my quality of life and is really keen to get me well. I thought Kelgren was a centre of excellence but it felt impersonal with the blood nurses nice or disinterested depending on their mood on the day. Felt like I was just someone who needed to be dispensed. I have no doubt they know which treatments to offer but there was no proper discussion or working with the patient and certainly did not feel listened to. Professorv Bruce whom I understand listens, cares and gives good treatment might want to give the rest some time to observe his approach and style. Sometimes that matters as much as the treatment. .
