Brilliant place. Knowledgeable and responsible staff with good awareness of health and safety, with a clear passion for what their products. A lot of reviews here talking badly about the staff…. Sure, they are little quirky… but what do you expect with a quirky shop! Don’t take it personally. A good experience overall. Worth a visit.

Great shop, plenty of warcraft merch purchased a Frostmourne and even got discount for hitting Benny with foam nunchuks, cracking banter with good staff very knowagebale

If you enjoy replicas of both classical medieval as well as fantasy weapons, come and gape a bit in-store. Maybe one will catch your eye...

Nice selection of swords, knives and all sorts of interesting things.It's a small shop but absolutely packed full of stuff which is quite typical in York

Refused service of a £400 sale as somebody else in the store handled merchandise in a way not appropriate to a inexperienced overzealous employee, unable to talk the 'manager/owner'Around to see a logical point of view and ruined not only my time shopping for souvenirs but also put a bad feeling upon day.Only good thing about this place is location and the memory of the item you could buy, ( if the item you want is a mask, plastic BB guns, decorative swords, letter openers, poor film replicas, one small low quality crossbow, one decent set of knives in a display case...)cheaper or better quality elsewhere.without decent employees/ 'owners'this place has nothing original.Will unfortunately surely be replaced in time with some outlet more customer/profit oriented... probably a Nero...A shop of a time gone by.

The staff who work here are friendly and passionate about what they sell. You can tell the staff and owers know what they are selling as when you question them about if the blades are tanged/tempered they know what you're talking about (unlike other shops). The swords they sell are very reasonably priced and of varying quality. The more you pay, the higher the quality you receive.The swords are not toys, but they are not functional swords either. They are decorative and nothing more unless stated.

Honestly such an awesome place to visit.Not only did the staff go above and beyond we had a great laugh too.I dropped the odd thing and was therefore the clumsiest person in the store and designated not allowed to touch anything er which was funny.My partner is apparently now engaged to the store clerk who we're still not convinced is over 13 years oldAnd we got shown an awesome picture of the store clerk in a suit of armour which by the way they looked awesome in.While there i purchased an awesome mini excalibur letter opener which was great value for the money and feels like a great qualityI fully recommend this store and its clerks to everyone and is a must visit!

Awesome shop! As soon as I saw the shop front while on a trip to York, I knew that nostalgia and my love of films were going to hurt my wallet...I bought 2 LOTR swords from the store after a nice long chat with the super friendly, specialist staff,while I was in York and have since bought the sword of Omens via their online shop. Super happy and quality products!
