I booked a table for 9 originally then asked if I could add another person, absolutely fine was the answer in a happy helpful voice, we all arrived this evening to be welcomed by a really lovely helpful lady, who showed us to our table,She was so attentive getting our drinks while we perused the great menu, well the food arrive and didn’t disappoint it was full of flavour, the gravy was to die for puds were beautiful and hot.What a great place to go for great food or just to have a drink.We will definitely go back again.Keep up the great work.Karen and Mark Derrick.P.s the dogs were happy as well.

My daughter and son in law had there wedding reception at The George Inn on 13th August 2022. We had meal for 11 of us on the Friday night, the food was wonderful and staff very helpful. The food for the reception was out of this world, couldn't ask for better. The reception room and staff were great. Would recommend the hotel/pub. Can't go wrong. Many thanks to the cook and bar staff for your hard work to make the afternoon and evening go without any problems.

We've eaten there quite a few times recently but it's never busy, even on a Sunday lunchtime, and it's become a joke how often I order something that's then not currently available. The kitchen should talk to the staff! The service is great, but the food is always overcooked and the yorkshires frequently inedible. I've tried most things on the menu to give the place a fair try, but changing some of it for other options and not overcooking everything would definitely get us (and I'm sure others) back in.

Pub grub..... but especially nice. Had hanging kebab, steak and ale pie and jacket potato with prawns and it was all excellent.Staff are friendly and a nice environment to be in

Went for a Sunday roast and it was quite good, meats were very good the rest a bit tepid but still tasty.Service was nice and relaxed. Worth a visit for sure.

Our 2 night stay was great. The room was fresh and clean, had everything we needed and a REALLY comfortable bed. Thanks to the staff for a delicious breakfast served with a smile! Would definitely come back if we were in the area again. Significantly cheaper than other hotels nearby.

Stayed at The George for two nights as we were attending a wedding up the road. Really friendly staff who gave us such a warm welcome and showed us to our room. The room itself was lovely. Good size bedroom and bathroom with a decent shower. Breakfast was very good and they have Rattler Cider. Would definitely recommend.
