Paws Positive Dog Training

Helen has helped us immensely with our staffy cross who was a ‘ pandemic puppy’ and came to us having had very few boundaries at the age of 5 months. Helen helped us with our initial training, but then we returned to her for advice and enrolled on her ‘thriving teen’ course a few months later, which has also proved so worth it! We were beginning to feel that we were never going to train our puppy, but it is amazing how quickly she has changed with Helens help ( and a lot of hard work!) . Helen is very calm and professional… and actually trains the humans as well as the dog. I cannot speak highly enough of Helen and her methods… it has definitely worked for us!

I highly recommend the adolescent dog training program! Helen is knowledgeable and patient, and she truly cares about the well-being and development of our dog. My pup has made incredible progress in terms of obedience, socialisation, and overall behaviour. The program is well-structured and easy to follow, and the training exercises are engaging and effective. I also appreciate that the program emphasises positive reinforcement techniques and encourages owners to build a strong bond with their dogs. Overall, this program has been a fantastic experience for both our dog and us, and we are confident that it will lead to a happy, well-behaved companion for years to come.

I really enjoyed working with Helen and my 2 border terriers! She was very calming, friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and my dogs love the training she is teaching us.I will continue to practice and use the tools she has put into place as I can already see that it's making a difference, they are already calmer and less stressed!

I cannot recommend Helen enough. It is so evident she loves and understands dogs. She showed us without any doubt that our Borgi can be trained, with such skill and kindness - and our dog loved it. It's now up to us to put in the hard yards but thankfully, as part of the adolescent course, we can access Helen's online learning videos which are a godsend. I contacted Helen before we got our Cockapoo puppy and was able to access all the training videos beforehand so that I could see what we should be doing from the word 'go'. They were very helpful, and we still have them, even though we have finished the course, so that we can refer back to them should we forget anything.Helen was able to give us very logical advice via Zoom calls, which Helen explained was partly due to Covid and partly because it is less distracting for the puppy to have only their owners present during the training. We were able to follow all of Helen's instructions and she was able to observe how we carried them out and suggest more effective methods if necessary.We now have a puppy who is well on the way to being trained and well behaved, and Helen is always there for advice should we need her. I would recommend Helen's course for any who is getting a new puppy or dog.

Helen has helped us with our new puppy from the very beginning. She has taught us so much about the behaviour and stages of our puppy's development and has given us lots of information, tools and support throughout our training journey. She is always on hand to help if we are concerned or have a question and has been polite, professional and reassuring throughout our experience. Our puppy is very high energy, but Helen has managed to give us lots of exercises that keep him entertained, focused and stimulated so that he can be the happy puppy we are able to enjoy as part of our family. I would recommend Helen to anyone; her use of positive based training to get the most from your puppy/dog is absolutely wonderful and is also such an amazing way to strengthen the bond between you and your pup. She is calm and confident and this has certainly enabled us to be able to follow her lead in our training program.
