The Oakwood Centre
I love this place partly for its charming cafe, partly for the occasional music and theatre events taking place here. Lately, the amateur theatre group and the jazz concert organising volunteers announced that they are not continuing for some reason. Which is a shame. I hope some younger people will pick it up and revive the theatre and concerts. I hope the council also helps to revive this great venue. In the meantime, enjoy your coffees here...

My daughter had a wedding reception. The centre was really good and the staff and management team were excellent and very helpful. The centre it self can easily be designed the way you want it. It's such a lovely place for events.

Great center, offering meeting rooms and the Alan Cornish theatre, not forgetting the lovely coffee shop!! Parking across the road. Very convenient.

We had our wedding reception at the Oakwood Centre. We loved it here. The facilities were nice and clean and the staff we dealt with on the day were also nice and professional. There is a park and lake outside, and shops across the road.

Lovely building set in the local park. Plenty of events and clubs going on here. Lovely cafe with great coffee. Dedicated local theatre. A great community space.

Lovely cafe backing onto the park, connected to the theatre. Inside and outside seating. Plenty of choice in terms of hot and cold drinks
