Food was good, but slightly on the pricey side. Seats are limited so sharing with other customers is an efficient and effective way to serve more people! Highly recommend the stir fried burdock!

I adore this little Japanese cuisine place!! Highly recommended what I ordered in the photos. I think it is charming when they keep it cozy and small. One to three customers per group have to share a table with other groups unless you come in bigger group. It is first come first served, you may have to wait in a line for awhile during their busy hours, not ideal in the cold but I can say it's worth it. The food is so fresh and also affordable. The miso soup tasted authentic. I quite enjoyed their plum wine as well. Double-check to make sure the server got your order correctly and that it didn't get mix up with other customer's on the same table like what happened to us. Anyway, I would love to come back to try different menus!

So worth the visit. Order the mixed platters and sake. Authentic Japanese flavours.

Mixed feelings about this place. The sushi was nice but it was way too overpriced for what you get. 8 pieces for 13£, 6 for 9£. There are limited seats, and the space is so small and loud. You also don’t get much time there. Poor value for money.

One of my favorite restaurants I have ate at in the UK!! Went here twice during my 2 day stay in Oxford because the home-cooked food is so comforting. Extremely high quality and greatly priced for the portion sizes. You are seated with other parties, which is pretty common in Asia. Highly recommend the salmon dishes for dinner!

A wonderful place, a genuine taste of Japan in a small, crowded but friendly space in Oxford. It's excellent value, properly Japanese in flavour and rightly one of the most packed places in the city.

We had to wait about 15 minutes in a queue before entering but it totally worth it. Delicious meals, very big potions, friendly staff. The menu each time is limited but you’ll find interesting options for you. They make sushi only on Thursday evenings. The place isn’t that spacious and there is only one toilet.

Heard great things about this place and have been wanting to try for ages! unfortunately there’s always a long line outside and so I only managed to get in today after trying three separate times.I had the yakiniku beef special (£9), miso soup and rice, and my vegan friend got the tofu steak. We also got the buttered potatoes, which were really good (£4). The miso soup was amazing and the tofu was soft and well seasoned, but I thought the beef was a bit tough and lacked sweetness.we were seated quite intimately with two other pairs and the turnover rate at this restaurant is quite high, so we spent only about an hour there.

A buzzing independent Japanese restaurant which is walk-in only. Food was good though my chicken karaage was quite oily. Well priced and good value for money. Service does feel a bit rushed though and they pack people pretty tightly. Overall good but not amazing, especially compared to places in London, but perhaps it's one of the best Oxford can offer.

Best sushi in Oxford. We tried the nigiri combo, tuna / salmon nigiri combo, edamame, miso soup and plum wine. All were excellent. (FYI - They only serve sushi on Thursdays for dinner.) Efficient and friendly service. It’s a small place with limited seating so there’s usually a line. Clean bathroom.
