Recently joined Whinhill Medical Practice - so far very positive experience. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Fiona, nurse practitioner, was knowledgeable and friendly on phone consultation.Attended Hypertension Clinic, where Agnes efficiently took my bloods and blood pressure giving good sympathetic advices re life style changes. I appreciate everyone's help - thank you.

Was meant to have an appointment but at my arrival to the practice, one of the receptionists checked in the wrong person (even though they asked me to spell my name twice) - I was waiting for over half an hour to be called and when nobody was coming, I went over to the receptionist to inquire. As a result of the staff's mistake, I lost my appointment and had to reschedule - next appointment being available in 5 weeks time. The receptionist was apologetic about this, however that was my time wasted for no reason, as if anyone has time to be waiting around just to have to reschedule. I was already waiting for today's appointment for a few weeks and this delay has caused me great deal of anxiety, as I had health issues related to this appointment and now I have to wait even longer. Not happy with the 'compensation' the practice offered.

Do not take an appointment with Dr Meesha, incredibly rude and dismissive refused to see me for an issue that I had written on my appointment notes as was only willing to see me for one isssue at at time. When I checked reception it was noted that it was multiple issues to be checked. She simply doesn’t care.

I’m really impressed with all the staff I’ve had contact with to date.I called today and spoke to a lovely Dr.She was really caring and understanding. I feel lucky that despite being so busy she took the time to understand my issues.

Do yourself a favour and don’t register with Whinhill - they do not take your concerns seriously, I’ve had to wait weeks to have appointments, just to have to call and get a second opinion before anything is done. Majority of the staff I’ve been seen by are incompetent & a few have been lovely and helpful. I’ve left the surgery in tears on more than one occasion out of frustration from their lack of concern or ability to do their job properly.

Can never get through and the IVR is deliberately setup that you can't wait, to avoid call queues, and then you've to redial (some carriers have a minimum connection charge so you could be getting charged more because of this disconnect behaviour) and keep doing this dance of listening to a message before you can pick your menu option.Just what you want when you're feeling ill.

When using their repeat prescription line, I would contact your pharmacy to check the items you ordered are on the script & in correct quantity. My last monthly prescription was only made out for 4 days. I also know a neighbour whose script was not delivered despite the protests from receptionist who insisted he was wrong. She finally admitted her error with no apology

Pros: Receptionist was friendly and understanding. Nurse that called me was polite and did her best to understand my situation.Cons: After waiting 20 minutes on the phone to be first in the queue, I was disconnected after being told by the machine that the line was too busy". It also took me three days to get a call for medication I need for insomnia

There’s no results from 2023 survey yet, but results from 2022 survey from 130,000 GP patients across Scotland ranked Winhill Medical Practice as the worst one in Aberdeen and bottom 10% in whole Scotland.Maybe the management should take it on board and start introducing some changes and bring some good staff and doctors on board.
