Great and friendly service , stocking local meats and great homemade pies

Unfortunately the local butcher is in the process of closing so we sourced the front street butcher at Sacriston. We rang beforehand and the gentleman was very helpful so we called in for a few T Bone steaks complete with sauce. Shop is an absolute delight, service first class and the meat delicious. Definitely return and highly recommend.

Good quality meat, nice eggs and jams and preserves. The bacon is lovely doesn't shrink and their meat deals are superb. The guys are really canny and friendly and it's a lovely place to visit, always feel welcome and leave with a bag of meat and leave a happy customer.

The produce is absolutely topquality. Not pumped full of water the way meats from supermarkets are and unlike supermarkets, you can be confident that you are buying local produce and supporting the local economy. The two guys are exceptionally friendly (even if the are New666tle United fans ha ha) very knowledgeable. There's no chance of me going back to the bland days of supermarket meats

Exceptional. Meats are outstanding quality and though price is marginally higher than a supermarket but the slight difference in price is remarkably generous considering the difference in produce. The owner is extremely friendly and not only welcoming but extremely helpful and knowledgeable which is a rare but refreshing change. He has recommended two items to us out of our normal purchases, a pork and leak sausage which i could not fault which says something from myself. The second was a lamb and mint pie which normally i avoid because alot of places mess up the pastry so was reluctant but now going to be buying daily. Places like this are the cornerstone of village life and this place is a prime example of how everything should be done. Keep up the high standards Lionel.

Excellent butcher. Really friendly and helpful and the produce is top quality. So lucky to have a good local butcher as not as many around as there should be.

The best butchers I've been to I live in Middlesbrough and have done most of the North East due to work. The hot beef sandwiches are 1000 out of 10 the are beyond tasty. I've had all the flavour pies and sausage rolls and quiche and would recommend this place to everyone can't wait to try the meat options.

This is an amazing butchers, the staff are always friendly and helpful. The hot beef rolls are to die for, steak squares always full of meat, sausages and black pudding beautiful and the meat is always great. Always 5 stars!!!
