Lingy Hut
Have to say this place saved me from a sticky situation. Stupidly walking after dark without anywhere sheltered nearby and the prospect of putting up my tent in torrential downpours, this hut emerged in the distance and meant I had a dry (if still horribly cold) night's sleep.Lessons learned but not the hard way thanks to this gorgeous bit of wooden architecture just off the Cumbria Way. Thanks Bothy Association!!P.s. it's cost, has candles and has been kept relatively clean and tidy. Someone has even donated a bottle of olive oil to spruce up future walkers' culinary attempts!!

Cracking little bothy in the lake district. Really tidy and well kept, a great spot to take a break or to weather out a storm. Has raised benches that could be used as sleeping in platforms in a pinch. All in all, a very welcome place to take a break!

Breathtakingly beautiful even after a 17.5 mile walk in support of a great cause #bigblindwalk. An absolute must on any walkers bucket list.

Lingy hut over the Christmas period was vandalised with graphic graffiti done by mindless idiots, the northern fells running club did a great job cleaning most of it off, so a big thank you to them, national park volunteers on their new years meet enjoyed cake and crack

Lingy Hut is a lovely little oasis in the middle of wild, barren or warm and inviting moorland, depending on the weather!!! It was warm and smelled woody like a sauna when I visited. Lingy Hut is cosy inside, well equipped and has a visitor's book to sign. Please leave it as you found it and keep it preserved for others to enjoy.

Bravo to the Bothy association. Well maintained and cared for. Shame some still feel the need to deface bothies. Shared with a hiker named Roy and his Jack Russell, Morse.

Well done to the M.B.A. a fantastic little bothy on the Cumbria way inbetween Knott and High Pike. A small bothy room enough to sleep three people on the benches and you could fit another two on the floor. Video on my YouTube channel, just search Steve Hayes Adventures.

Had the hut to myself overnight. What a great resource for the intrepid traveller.Had to sweep the floor, previous guests had not bothered. There is no service here of any kind. No water, no toilet or washing facility. If you're going to eat or drink anything here, you carry it. Then you take your waste home. Leave it as you found it, or better.

Really nice basic hut (bothy) open to people passing. Great to shelter from the weather on a walk. No facilities, but three large benches suitable for sitting or sleeping

Lovely place to come across on a long hike. Happily took shelter to eat my lunch here.
