This shop has some of the most helpful counter staff I’ve ever experienced. It should be designated as a national treasure!

The owner is a master in his field. I took a selection of very random bolts with me, various threads for a classic motorcycle that needed replacing.With relative ease the man found the like for like replacements out of his Aladdin’s cave of stock reappearing moments later.Great for vintage machinery, bikes and cars. If your not sure of the sizes he is super helpful

All you have to know about this amazing shop is that they do things their own way, and you have to accept the specific personalities, working methods and opening hours. Screwfix this ain’t!I’ve been going to this shop for more than a decade and it is, without doubt, essential and worth treasuring. The knowledge and stock they hold is encyclopaedic. You can buy a 100 year old bolt for a Victorian door knocker that fits perfectly. Queues due to its niche popularity are commonplace.My only advice is go prepared - they don’t suffer fools gladly. It helps to have a specific idea of what you’re looking for. If you’re rude or impatient they’ll be rude and impatient right back. If you’re friendly and patient, the service matches. Also, it’s an old fashioned bricks-and-mortar shop. Don’t call them, take the time to visit and chat over the counter.Long live this wonderful shop. There aren’t many like this anymore.

Wanted 1/4 inch whitworth nuts for some handles and the man"Knew exactly what I wanted and produced them for me. You don't get that service at B& Q

Superb choice of hardware. Nuts and bolts of every kind and length. Superb service. The rate bits could be expensive..

Magnificent little hardware shop. They seem to stock everything you could possibly need and can’t get elsewhere. Will be lost if it ever closes!

Saved my bacon on several occasions. They had obscure bolts that I'd given up hope on ever finding, and being an actual shop with people who know their stuff (rather than online) you can be sure of getting the right thing. It will be a very sad day if/when they close - may it be a long way off!

Amazing little shop. After walking round various hardware shops looking for a specific sized wingnut and finding nothing, this man took one look at the bolt and immediately identified the thread size by eye. Grabbed the exact wingnut i wanted, span it onto the thread and smiled. Imperial, metric, doesnt matter. He is almost guaranteed have the exact item you need in stock. Cash only, so I had to run across the road to the ATM at sainsburys.

What a lovely man .I needed some old slotted wood screws an imperial nut and some old bsa bolts to complete a few repair projects.I was worried that this store may have closed ,as so many in London have due to greedy councils increasing rents and rates plus Sadiq (the worm !) Kahn making it so expensive for small businesses to get deliveries and customers unless they are already local.I am fortunate to live only a 30 min walk away so took myself down there.My order was only small but the gentleman behind the counter took the time to match each of the bolts I had and identify the size nut I needed.Old school service,what a gent.I had no intention too but whilst at the counter I treated myself to a ratchet tap wrench which I could have easily bought online but if we don’t use great stores like this they will disappear .10/10
