Nice stop off place on the way to Seaton. Reasonable choice of food, freshly prepared, with generous sauces and extra gravy. Friendly staff. Dog's allowed in. We will be popping in" again."

Lovely quaint old pub with very low beams and loads of character. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the home cooked food was superb.My wife had ham, egg & chips and said it was the best ham she'd ever had.The chips were awesome too.Will visit again if we're in the area.

Out side uninviting. Beer garden foot long grass n walls round. Not pleasent and a long walk with a pint. Was cold inside and felt very clicky. Kitchen was a mess. Wouldnt want a meal in there . Nice inside but outside areas summat to be desired . No thanks

Completely dead on Saturday night, no music, no atmosphere. Quaint building, but stank of smoke, old food and loos when you walked in. Felt like intruding on their lounge, complete with dirty dinner plates. Wont be coming back in a hurry!

I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews, but I really can't write anything but a negative one. At the entrance, you're greeted by very stinky gents loos with the door open, complimented by numerous flies. This should probably have been a warning sign, but we'd been unable to get a table anywhere else at short notice on Friday night. The bar was sticky and generally pretty grubby. Anyway ...we decided to risk it and ordered food from the fairly basic menu. Our already limited confidence was shaken when the table next to us had to call the waitress back as their lasagne was still frozen! I ordered drinks in the meantime, all of which came in dirty glasses. The food arrived ...one child's sausage and mash was fine. Another child had some mozzarella sticks, which were cremated. I went rather optimistically for a stilton and mushroom bruschetta....it was half a baguette with fried mushrooms, microwaved to melt some stilton on top. Edible, but not enjoyable. We didn't risk pudding and left as soon as possible, and the experience was summed up by the minder like waitress standing behind me saying Don't worry

Really lovely hosts friendly pub called in for a drink didn’t try the food a bit quiet but it was mid afternoon so not a busy time a few locals in the local cider was yummy

November 2022, we just had a fantastic Sunday Lunch at one of the oldest pubs in England, can Highly Recommend, the food was superb and I couldn’t fault it, congratulations to the kitchen staff, the Bartender was a Gem, on the ball with everything, service and attentive ! Ps I had the Treacle Tart which was very moorish! Thumbs up all round.
