Update:20th Aug 23, returned to the area and repeated our Gail's experience from when they first opened. The cinnamon swirl was as good but disappointed to find the loose-leaf tea was now a plastic bag and tasted far worse. Why put a bag in a loose-leaf strainer other than to deceive?---Original post:Tea for two in a ceramic pot, not a metal café pot. Loose leaf tea filtered rather than bags dropped in. Danish pastries that tasted better than the ones we had in Denmark. All for prices from last decade. I love GAIL's!

Long queue during lunch hours, yet ordering via the app proved to be a quick and efficient solution.

Friendly staff. Good coffee and cake choice. However sustainability not high on the agenda with a whopping extra 40 p for oat milk!

Comfortable, spacious for Cambridge, big windows, agreeable staff, excellent baristas, very good bakery food & coffee, friendly & attentive management. Good quality non-dairy milk alternatives. Look forward to resolution of long-running staff shortage - routinely can’t order from the kitchen menu (toast, eggs) - and odd design flaw (simple sign?) causes confusion and frustrations at the till (people queuing in wrong place). Gail’s is missing rising demand for gluten free.

Gail's had the best tasting bakery!! They didn't serve sandwiches in the morning and only served the bakery but still was happy! I recommend getting the pecan cake and the double chip cookie

Fantastic location right outside of our apartment.Staff were very friendly, plenty on hand to serve and the food and coffee was delicious. A real great way to start your morning.

I was excited to finally try this place as I frequently travel through the nearby Cambridge Station.Good:-Location. It's super convenient to the Cambridge train station. Should you miss a train and have an hour to kill, it's could be a place to do so.-Offerings. I had a seasonal winter brew. It was rich and smooth. Bacon and cheese croissant was tasty but cold (apparently, they don't heat them up ?)-Even with a line, they moved efficiently behind the counter, getting and filling ordersNegative-The only drawback and reason for the given rating is the standard of cleanliness. I understand it's a prime location with tons of foot traffic from the train station and surrounding student population. However, with that said, every surface in the cafe was dirty. Used dishes, crumbs, napkins, etc. New customers were having to clear tables before they could sit. The staff was busy moving the orders side of the business, but little attention was being allocated to maintain the seating area.

Made our order only to be told they don't accept cash. Well, we don't accept businesses with a cashless agenda so we left and got to the food trucks a few feet away - we were so lucky to be put off by Gail's kichen, the breakfast we got at the food truck was so amazing. If you happen to be looking for food around Cambridge train station, head to the first food truck near the station entrance, you will hit the sandwich jackpot. We should have bought one for the road as well, simply amazing

Visit 2 - Came back a couple of weeks later, from a long train journey wanting a comforting decaff mocha.The server who took my payment was super nice, but the barista was not friendly - I've no idea if it was decaff cos she just shouted Mocha and plonked it down.I asked for a cup to have in but was still given a takeaway cup. The mocha was average.Visit 1 - Delicious overnight oats and Oat flat white. Tad pricey. But nice stop off before the train.
