Really nice metal pub with food and good vibes. The music is good and the place is huge with a nice outdoor area. I even met Blaze Bayley, ex-singer of Iron Maiden, here.

We visited before the Madness show in the NIA, atmosphere was good and queues at the bar were not very long, despite the crowd for the gig.We got in just before they switched to plastic glasses which are always a bit more annoying to drink out of.Good atmosphere and ok selection of drinks on tap. Expect to pay £5 - £7 a pint

I agree this is a hidden gem! Great inside space perfect for event nights & lovely canalside terrace. Food was delicious! Huge wraps, loaded fries, Greek salad & their famous gravy or cheese sauce pots.... fabulous. Staff were first class too, all very friendly & helpful.

I was at the Flapper and Firkin for a meet the author event for #NewStreetAuthors in Birmingham City centre on the Cut". The Flapper is a little "gritty" being a biker and rock pub with live music every week. I am a great lover of Led Zeppelin and THE BEST Led Zep Tribute Fred Zeppelin is on at The Flapper on 29th December and I'm hoping to be at the gig as my wife Mary is a bigger Led Zeppelin fan than I am with her family The Sherwoods having known the Plant family for many years until fairly recently when Robert's aunty Gwen passed away as her late husband Uncle Stan was best friends with my late father in law George Sherwood. Mary danced with Robert at Uncle Stan's 70th birthday party at their house in Oakham

Held a private event in the basement here and everyone had the best time. Thank you to the team for helping the Midlife Gamer gang have such a lovely evening. Would definitely recommend - and I'm sure we'll all come back too :)

Nice pub, good for a beer during the warm summer days. A bit outdated, but they have a good-sized terrace.

We ate and drank here after travelling to the Arena for a gig. The Flapper is a good place to relax, eat and drink for a couple of hours before a concert. Good range of drinks. Food is based on subs but very good ones. Subs are substantial and sides are available. Situated by Cambrian Canal Basin where there is lots of historical interest. Nice place and we will always use before a gig. Recommended.

Great great pub. Awesome friendly staff, great choice of beverages! The food is just mwah! Portions huge, fresh n piping hot. Lovely n tucked away down an old cobbled street, huge outdoor area n balcony overlooking the lovely view of the canal. Great crowd of all ages. Perfect for any occasion, very handy if you are going to a concert over the road.

Visited as part of the Birmingham Canals Pubs tour. We approached this venue from the Canalside (naturally on a canal tour...) and I must have spent a good five minutes trying to locate the entrance! My own fault and also aided in the thirst build up. Lovely spacious pub near Brindleyplace with lovely tiered beer garden section with some historic industrial artefacts on site to. Great view of the canal. A great place to enjoy a delicious pint!

Good prices, given the area. Decent selection of drinks (coming from someone who rarely drinks so take that with a grain of salt). The outdoor area is lovely. They serve fries and subs - they're decent according to my friend.
