Bill and the team are all brilliant and always help with advice when needed! Been going back to Campkins as a beginner photographer for the past few years and always get the help and advice I need. Just came off the phone for almost one hour with Bill who discussed all of my requirements and recommendations moving forward for my photography in regards to gear and editing. Highly recommend and thank you again Bill for your time!

The experience of purchasing a used camera was nice and appreciated, but when we purchased an SD card for it, he was charging £120 for a 128gb Lexar 1066x. I was a bit in shock clearly, but the owner claimed it was fast and better than the other options, and we trusted him so we didn't price check on the spot.However that SD card retails for £20! I understand that the shop must mark up to make a profit but SIX TIMES is very suspicious and abusive. We were already buying a £1500 used camera from you, why squeeze even more profit out of us.We have friends nearby and come to Cambridge to visit often, I would not shop here again without price checking every last thing I was purchasing with the online price.DO NOT BUY SD CARDS HERE. Even the fastest SD cards are rarely sold for more than £30/£40.

What can I say? Since I first dealt with Campkins in 2018 the service I have received, both in store and online, has been outstanding. The team are always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Physically the store is a long way from my home but they are my dealer of choice and the drive to visit them is always worthwhile.

Although a lot of the replies written by the owner to reviews seem quite rude and obnoxious, the service I recieved, although an easy issue to resolve, was resolved quickly.The item I ordered was not in stock, nowhere was this communicated on the website and judging by previous reviews spanning back multiple years this regularly happens.At no point in the order process was I notified that the item I paid for was not available (with no ETA) until after having paid for the item.Stock status should be better communicated on the website but I appreciated the mention of an alternative product on the website which I ended up choosing.

Very poor service developing film and highly overpriced stock (many items are around 2X higher than market price) . Store took months to replace incorrectly developed film (somehow developed my colour film as black and white). One elderly male store assistant 'smirked' when I asked what happened and he shrugged when I asked when I would receive it. He got aggressive when I asked for a refund and bashed my phone on the table in front of other shoppers. Said he couldn't organise refunds as the manager wasn't there. On a previous occasion I enquired about a Nikon Z5, the same store assistant claimed that camera didn't exist... I purchased one elsewhere the next day. Recommend using other stores in Cambridge (Wex for camera kit / Snappy Snaps for developing film)

The only place I could find what I was looking for, Godox V350O. Item arrived all good and their customer service replied to my questions on a Sunday morning very promptly. The only criticism I have (hence the 4 stars) is that the power cord looks like a replacement, I guess the orinal one was not UK type and the replacement one was dirty, as if it was sitting on a shelf for ages and added to the flash's box before posting. But it all works fine.

I went to the shop looking for a 28mm fd lens for my AE-1 and they immediately got it all sorted out for me, with a great attitude I may add. They have tons of great cameras, lenses, accessories and more. Don’t hesitate to stop by and check this place out. Thanks for everything guys. P.S. there’s a great dog that works there too lol

This shop has been around for a long time,decades.weathered all financial storms, and still in business!!!!.Ask why!!Shop full of very informative peopleWho are pleased to see you.I took the assistant's advice and purchased my first choice of binoculars,Carl ziess to use when flying my Mavic 3 dgi drone.Superb, no distortion ,no haze or blurring on the edges.simply fantastic.
