I have a Kelpie who was attacked by a German shepherd. Her face was torn open. She is a nervous dog, they were brilliant with her and the surgery was so good you can't even see her scars. But along with that my 2 dogs and 2 cats have received excellent care. Highly recommend

Having to say goodbye is a pain we all feel at some point in our lives with our furbabies, all the staff at Hill Park were very professional and extremely sympathetic, they all helped us through a difficult time, for which we will always be grateful.

My cat was seen by a highly experienced vet, everything was explained clearly to me, I found this a much better service then other vets I have been to.

On 28th September, sadly I had to say goodbye to one of my 18 year old cats. I was torn between a home visit from a Hill Park vet or attending the Elm Park practice for an appointment, as my cat never enjoyed trips to the vets. In the end I booked the latter as she had deteriorated over a number of days. Myself, my partner and my cat received good care from the vet/nurse who carried out the procedure. However, I found myself upset, frustrated and angry throughout the entire appointment due to the fact that roughly 4 other vets/nurses entered and exited the room on numerous occasions before, during and after. I was told I would have all the time I needed to be alone with my cat and that it would be private, and at no point was I told that anyone other than the primary vet/nurse and an assisting vet/nurse would be in the room during the appointment. It became clear that the room we were in (to the right of the reception area) joined to other parts of the practice, and staff needed to access the room to get to these areas. Those that came in unannounced muttered apologies here and there, but I was shocked at how many times and how many people came in and out throughout an obviously upsetting appointment. Our main vet/nurse announced her entry into the room and checked to see if we were ready or needed more time, yet everyone else simply opened and closed the doors around us and brushed past myself and my partner at the most painfully difficult and intimate times. It seems that one of the attached rooms is where other pets are kept and at one point a vet/nurse carried someone else's pet through the room as my cat was passing. As you can imagine, this felt insensitive, and in addition I could also hear vets/nurses conversing with each other and the animals through the thin adjoining door.I understand that the Elm Park facilities are small and that there were other appointments and things going on at that time. But I cannot understand why either I wasn't informed beforehand and given the option to move to another room, or book an appointment for a better time if I was not happy about the possibility of being interrupted, OR that the staff were not told the nature of the appointment taking place and not to disturb until it was over. Of course I know that vets/nurses are used to these type of appointments, however, I didn't expect an audience. I considered saying something at the time, but given how devastated I was about losing my cat I didn't want to focus on what was happening around me (although it was difficult not to).I sent my comments directly to Hill Park Vets and quickly received a response from the manager Sharon, who apologised and said a new policy would be put in place to ensure the same situation won't happen again. I find it hard to understand why there isn't a policy for euthanasia appointments already in place, given that it's quite a common veterinary procedure that nobody wishes to attend and most definitely warrants privacy. So, whilst I am unfortunately unable to change my own experience, I hope my email to the practice and this review will lead to changes so others have a much more peaceful experience when visiting Hill Park Vets for such a heartbreaking reason.I really struggled to come to terms with the fact that it was time for my cat to go to sleep and I knew it would be hard adjusting to things after she was gone, but I must say, what I experienced during the appointment has made processing everything even harder and I don't think I will be returning to this practice in the future.

My parents cat (Tigger) went missing on Monday evening (06/11/23) after she had run under my dad's car as he pulled up on his driveway (we think she was startled by fireworks). On Wednesday morning (08/11/23) my parents had a phone call from the vet who had Tigger after she had been found injured by one of my parents neighbours. The vets had taken exceptional care of Tigger by making her comfortable with strong painkillers including Morphine, as she had sustained severe injuries (shattered pelvis and leg). We had to have her put to sleep, but they gave us time as a family in a quiet room with Tigger to say goodbye. We are all still very saddened by this tragic accident and are missing her dearly. We managed to thank our neighbour who took Tigger to the vet and he told us that several other vets wouldn't take her, but this vet said to bring her in straight away (Tuesday evening). We are so thankful and grateful this vet were able to take such good care of her and would highly recommend them.
