We arrived on time after making an online booking, but no booking could be found (but place was nearly empty so no problem getting a table). Very disappointed with the food quality, had to take back my cuttelry as it was not clean, the mushroom and ale pies were terrible, the pastry was solid and tasted stale, and the filling was just as bad. Certainly won't be going here again!Definitely not recommended!

Food ordered...mushroom pie...cold, garden peas hard and cold....mash appeared to be instant and cold. Gravy was set and congealed. Returned meal and advised I could have either a fresh one remade....was this not fresh I ask??. Or order something else off the menu but to let me know the chef said if it cost more I would need to pay the difference. Other meal ordered full english with extra paid for toast...toast was burnt, and a only a slice of toast.a tub of margarine on side which they said was butter and a teaspoon of baked beans. Replaced the toast and brought a small ramekin of beans. Selected fish and chips as replacement meal, came promptly with a reservoir of brown oil and burnt black bits. When I asked what that was advised by person serving they were sorry and didn't know what it was.Needless to say I left the Hungry Horse still very hungry having had nothing to eat.Refund was issued. I need to remember even when I'm starving not to come here as this is not the first time we have had this experienceI've not recommended a dish below as the last question requires as nothing met even basic standards. Unfortunately the bar and table staff near the brunt of the in house negativity as the 'chef' can hide away then n the kitchen!!!!

The new manager Alex, goes beyond and above, to cater to every individual needs, attentive, welcoming and always happy to help, 5 star service food came out hot and tasty, fresh!!!

The Hunters Moon Pub in Birmingham Hodge Hill is a warm and family-friendly spot for daytime dining. However, it can get rowdy in the evenings. Regardless, it's a great place to enjoy delicious pub grub and drinks. The friendly staff enhances the atmosphere and welcoming vibe.

Would think twice before going here again, nearly an hour before we could order the food. Total shambles in table service, 3 separate orders to our tables. But ours came out last with kids food. You would think they would bring kids food first.Never cleared table , even when they bought desserts put it right next to the dirty plates. Eventually had to go up to the bar to ask them to move the plates ect, staff just wondering around not even busy. Ordered desserts and nothing like what was on the menu. When asked the server about the items that should be in the desserts, was told yh we ent got anyReply was well not good enough should of been told when ordering.
