What can I say about Nuffield Health Brighton? I had surgery here a few years ago and, considering the circumstances, it was a rather pleasant experience. This was September of 2020, so I wasn’t allowed to have any friends or family come in with me. The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive though.Just before I went into the operating theatre, as they were administering the general anaesthetic, a member of staff (was he a nurse? A surgeon? Something else? I don’t know) asked me about how I got the name Colin, and we ended up having a great chat about Spaced, one of my favourite sitcoms. The next thing I knew, I was waking up from surgery.Despite having been reading a book about Fred and Rose West before I went in, during the surgery I had stressful dreams about having to send an email. The staff continued to be lovely throughout the evening, night, and morning. Throughout the night I was awoken by someone who had to give me certain medications. I remember feeling rather perturbed by that at the time. In the morning, I enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine from the window which overlooked a lovely view. I honestly can’t remember what the view was, I just remember think it was really nice. I also had a great chat that morning about One Direction with one of the nurses.

All the staff were amazing except 1. This place is more like a 4 star hotel than a hospital. Its set in beautiful grounds overlooking the English Channel. It was my birthday when I was in there and one of the nurses went and got me a cake. I couldn't praise the staff enough except for 1 misery guts.

The staff here are really pleasant and friendly especially the reception staff. I had to come here for a ct scan and as a disabled person I didn’t expect to be forced to use the stairs today putting myself in danger of a fall - yes apparently both the lifts we’re broken (although when I walked past no signs saying out of order and no one working fixing the lifts) the only options I was given to get to my ct scan was to take the stairs or to walk through the busy dangerous carpark - as I had my dad with me he decided it would be ok for me to use the stairs as he could carry my walker down the stairs for me (no staff offered to help us!) but I just had to walk down two flights of stairs slowly holding onto the rail hoping I wouldn’t fall considering I have chronic vertigo and other health issues this wasn’t safe at all if my dad hadn’t been there I’d of been at serious risk of a fall. The ct scan was done in 2mins and my dad had purchased a coffee at costa in the reception and barely had time to drink it before he had to run down the stairs again to help me back up the stairs with my walker (no staff offered any help at all). It was only once we got back in the car that I mentioned to my dad they had a waiting area down near the ct scanner with a coffee machine for patients so my dad didn’t need to pay for a coffee he should have got it for free - it’s a bit cheeky to not point this out to patients and visitors with them who may need a drink while they are waiting for their appointment etc why should they have to feel like they have to buy it from costa we pay enough money for private health care in the first place a free coffee being offered to everyone isn’t a lot to ask. While I felt your staff were kind and friendly I do think there was so much more they could’ve done to make this experience better, like offer to help me on the stairs because the lifts were broken and point out that my dad or I could have a free coffee etc before or after my appointment. That’s just what good customer care should be about and to be honest I feel a bit let down after we drove a fair way to get here and then treated like this.

Stayed here today for my knee operation. Hospital was extremely clean and represented well. Parking was easy and once booked in at reception was free.My surgeon was excellent and everyone who assisted me today were polite, professional and extremely helpful. Special mention for my nurse Mark who booked me in and to Peter who was so professional and caring. My physio was extremely helpful. All the staff were amazing from arrival to departure and couldn’t be anymore amazing. Thank you to you all.

An absolutely amazing experience at the Nuffield Hospital, Brighton. I attended the hospital for a hysterectomy performed by Mr Peter Larsen-Disney. Everything from the first consultation, to the pre-op appointment to the actual operation and after care were second to none. I cannot fault any of it and Mr Larsen Disney, is not only professional and knowledgable he is caring, kind and makes you feel totally at ease. I would absolutely recommend the hospital and Mr Larsen-Disney to anyone!
