Meal came out too quickly, obviously not cooked fresh . Warm food , not hot. Cold in the restaurant , always have to keep your coats on .

Went for the Breakfast with Santa. Food was good but the Santa experience was awful! Present was not age appropriate so my daughter was left very disappointed with a book that was for a toddler. We approached Santa who was sitting at a table in the bar area. He held out a bag and just said pick one and that was it. No sitting down or getting asked what she might want for Christmas. My daughter has been looking forward to her breakfast with Santa but ended up being very disappointed.

Such a beautiful building, the history envelopes you. Warm, friendly and efficient staff. ***** for including a traditional Sunday lunch for vegetarians, this is quite often missing from some places. Food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Wow - My friend and I were both very pleasantly surprised with our visit to The Rose and Crown in Wick. It's become a bit of a standing joke that everywhere we seem to visit for a meal ends up being some sort of disaster BUT NOT THIS TIME!Upon arrival we were greeted by a roaring open fire which made the bar feel warm and cozy and a very friendly young man welcomed us and offered to take a drinks order before showing us to our seats. The pub was busy, which is always an indication of what it's like, especially as our visit was on a Wednesday lunchtime. There was a lovely atmosphere and the place was nicely decorated and furnished which gave a great aesthetic. After being shown to our table, a super friendly waitress (I think from her accent that she may have hailed from somewhere in Eastern Europe) brought over the menus and told us that a couple of dishes had been very popular so were no longer available. This wasn't an issue as the menu had plenty of things to choose from and after deliberation, our orders were placed. We had starters, mains and desserts and enjoyed every single mouthful! The food arrived in good time, was well presented, plentiful, tasted delicious and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A special mention for the sticky toffee pudding which was so delicious, and probably one of the nicest which I've ever eaten. All in all we were so pleased with our visit and really enjoyed ourselves. The parking was easy, the staff were lovely, the food was amazing and we will definitely be back plus I've recommended the place already to family and friends.

I was chatting to a friend today and asked if there were any nice places to eat out their way? He suggested the #RoseandCrown @ Wick. Our morning had quickly slipped away from us, so we headed straight to the Pub for lunch. As soon as we arrived we were in love with the place. The wild garden near the car park, the decor as soon as you enter. Watch your head, and you are told this while being shown to our table by a lovely hostess. Our food was amazing- we are waiting for desserts and coffee. Definitely recommend an hour or 2 of your life to pop in here. Noise is low which is fabulous.

We couldn’t be bothered to cook and the kids wanted a roast. The rose and crown, whilst particularly dangerous for the taller person, was cosy, the service was quick, and the food was just what was needed. We’ve been several times and will continue to go back. It’s good value and the food is always on point! Just remember to duck, something my 6ft 2 tall son seems to always forget.

Went for the Burns night menu as we'd been looking for somewhere celebrating Burns night. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it with 4 courses. Emma, our waitress was really friendly and happy to accommodate our son who wanted the normal menu and to mix and match from the children's and adults menus. We loved our evening there and will be back soon..

I ordered off the Christmas menu and my Turkey roast was so disappointing I left most of it. The turkey was mushy with no flavour and part's of it was clear! Was it boiled? Who knows. I couldn't cut into my parnsips as they was so dried out the same as the potatoes. It seems some of the food was batched cooked and just dried out such as the parnsips, stuffing and roast potatoes. Then the pudding I had the mince pie sundae and I had two mouthfuls and felt sick from the flavour. It tastes like someone poured a pint of brandy in it. Such a waste of money. My wife had the steak chiabata and the steak was meant to be cooked medium rare and it was cooked well done. Not a single bit of pink.No one came to check once how the food was. Shame as I would of said something because I went to the bar and no one was there.

The service was poor, the meal came first, we had to remind them about drinks. It seemed more important to lay tables than serve us. The roast sirloin was obviously warmed up, it had that warmed up taste. Have less choice and raise quality.

Had a brilliant meal here a couple of weeks ago. I had the veggie roast and it was delicious! The meals were generously portioned too.The atmosphere is cosy and warm. I would recommend highly!
