Ive not been going long but the service users made me feel so welcome - and of course the staff.It took a couple of weeks to get over my initial nerves of going somewhere newAnd feeling very vulnerable because of poor mental health and past abuse issues but the staff phoned every day for the first few days just coaxing me gently to come in.And gently telling me .....just try to come along to the drop in sessions if you can.So each day im getting a tiny bit braver- listening to so many strong and incrediblyCourageous women who are a shining example to me of what the future holds for me if i just keep coming along.The services offered are jaw dropping-Ranging from showers on request toOne to one counselling -To name a few of so many .When you first go you fill in a fair bit of paperwork but its reasonable when you realise they are working so hard to ensureThat all your needs are taken care of.The drop ins are great fun with such a diverse range of women attendingAnd the activities we do are so wide ranging .Since ive been attending in just the last three weeks -I have made cards,done clay modelling ,Ive played chair football.Weve had a visit from Reading Museum,A Bollywood/ Belly dancing instructor offering us a taster sessionIve been made toadted sandwichesSoooo many lovely cuppas buy the caringVolunteers.Had 2 interviews towards completing my initiel needs assessments and my first session with ny support worker.Im so happy here - it couldnt be more welcoming -And im definitely going to just keep coming back ......just as the lovelyStaff encouraged me to on my first day.Nothing will keep me away now !!
