Quite nice flavour on the pastrami but not a patch on a proper New York deli Reuben. Pretty dry and barely any kick of mustard or tanginess from the sauerkraut or sweetness of russian dressing that balances out perfectly on a decent Reuben. The predominant flavour was smoke. Pretty stingy with the portions as well with most of the filling packed up near the front, but that's Seven Dials overheads for you I guess.

I grew up in lower Manhattan and I know genuine NY Jewish deli cuisine. Monty's is the real deal - the best I've ever eaten on this side of the pond.

Utterly happy that they opened a new branch this central! If you like beef and are looking for the best experience of it, don’t go to a steakhouse this time, go there!It is an ultra big portion of a salted beef sandwich with all the goodness you can experience in a bite! Don’t forget to get pickles next to it!

Monty’s Deli has gone massively downhill. Now part of a self-service food court, they’ve cut down on staff and service and you’re left with a McDonald’s style self-service counter. The staff is busy looking at their Twitter feed so make sure to get their attention before ordering. Think you’d like a coffee with your bagel? Tough luck.. You’ll have to order your coffee at a cafe next door.
