Sketch café

At the time I was very impressed by the service and selection of gluten-free pastries on offer. They were not labelled as such but I was confidently informed which 3 were available for me to choose from. The lady working was bubbly and friendly, and appeared to be well informed about what was gluten free ans their selection of alternative milks. However, sadly I was ultimately glutened from this visit (the only thing I had had to eat or drink all day) and very sick my usual 3 hours later after having only a cinnamon roll and an almond milk latte at Sketch. Disappointing as I even had a chat with her whilst paying to ask if they made the pastries on site or ordered them in, and I was told they made them on site so they knew for sure they were gluten free. It may be that they were and instead I was glutened by the almond milk either because it may have been blended with oats, or perhaps I was given oat milk instead.I tried calling them 3 times to inform them so no other coeliacs would also fall ill but they didn’t answer. This unfortunately ruined my afternoon and I had to miss afternoon tea that I had booked elsewhere.

Stopped here during our walk thru York and enjoyed a tasty cafe latte and homemade muffin. Very friendly staff, lovely location and fair prices.Thank you!

Went to the gallery and the smell drew us in. A really interesting menu that did not disappoint! Service was very efficient and super friendly.

Always a friendly welcome here, with delicious fresh bakes on offer. Great coffee and a service with a genuine smile (not something you see very often these days)
