At my last visit to my optician I was told cataracts in both eyes needed to removed. My eyesight had deteriorated. I was concerned about my ability to meet the driving license standards.I was referred to Mr Mamun Rahman whom I found to be both caring and professional. During surgery he was very reassuring and told me what was happening. I'm delighted with the results as my sight is much improved in both eyes.

I was referred specifically to Dr Rahman by my optician for suspected glaucoma. I was seen within 1 week when the provisional diagnosis was confirmed. Within 2 months (delayed by 4 weeks by an unrelated condition), surgery was completed (lens replacement both eyes and 2 stents in one eye). Very pleased with care and achieved outcomes. Now able to return to normal activities much sooner than if I had been on NHS waiting list.Thank you Dr Rahman.

I went to my opticians for a routine eye test and was told the angles inside my eyes were narrowing, and I would have to be referred to hospital for surgery. When I phoned the hospital to find out the waiting times I was shocked to be told it would be 75 weeks. I decided to make an appointment at Rosshall Hospital for a consultation with Mr. Rahman, and to find out more about this condition.I went to see Mr. Rahman who gave me a thorough examination, telling me I also had cataracts in both eyes and that the pressures in my eyes were high. He explained in detail about these conditions and the surgical procedures involved and put me completely at ease, answering all my questions. I decided to go ahead with the surgery and was admitted within two weeks from seeing him for surgery on one eye, and two weeks later surgery on the second eye. I was amazed at the difference in my vision almost immediately after surgery, and had no idea my eyes were so bad. I returned today for follow-up and examined again by Mr. Rahman. He told me the pressures in my eyes had halved and everything looked really good.I cannot thank him enough for all his help and dread to think of the outcone if I had waited 75 weeks on the NHS waiting list!!!Thank you once again Mr. Rahman, you're amazing.

Dr Rahman performed SLT on my eyes following identification of high pressure in my eyes. Dr Rahman was very attentive throughout from diagnosis to post operation always making himself available to speak if I had any issues or discomfort. He made sure I was fully aware of the risks and potential side effects throughout and made sure I was fully at ease before the operation. I had a great all round experience.

I was referred to Dr Mamun Rahman by my optician due to raised pressure in both eyes. My problem was fully investigated and the subsequent cataract surgeries were carried out with care, consideration and a reassuring awareness of my understandable anxiety.As well as my sight being improved, the original problem has been resolved fully.I commend the the professionalism and efficiency of Dr Rahman and thank him for all he has done. I chose Mr Ramun Mahman at Ross Hall Braehead clinic to have my cataract removed from my left eye as he had previously operated on the right eye with great success.He explained the procedure to me prior to surgery and during surgery put me at ease by informing me of every stage. Surgery was complete in about 20 minutes and immediately afterwards I knew my vision was improved, even with the protective shield in place. I had no pain, just a slight “grittiness” in my eye for a couple of days and can see clearly again, which is a joy. I would highly recommend Mr Rahman.

After an annual eye test, my optometrist advised that I was at imminent risk of suffering from narrow angle glaucoma in both eyes and should see a consultant ophthalmologist. Hence, after research, I decided to consult Mr Rahman at Eye Care Scotland at Ross Hall Clinic Braehead.At my first consultancy with Mr Rahman, he confirmed this assessment and carefully described three options After our discussion, I opted for cataract lens replacement to alter my eye geometry opening the drainage paths and allowing my eye pressure to reduce.As there are other issues with my eyes, Mr Rahman replaced the lenses in two stages - completing the surgery on the first eye before examining it and proceeding to repeat the procedure on the second eye.Mr Rahman was very kind, highly experienced and thoughtful throughout, carefully describing each step of the examinations and procedures, helping to put my mind at ease. The procedures themselves were painless and I found them interesting. Most importantly, the procedures in both eyes have proved to be very successful, with the drainage paths opened as planned and my eye pressures significantly reduced to low levels. I would therefore like to thank Mr Rahman for his professional work and I would highly recommend him to anyone facing similar problems.

Many thanks to Dr Mamun Rahman for giving me back my sight after cataract surgery, so important to me to retain my driving licence and my job! Mr Rahman has an excellent and calming manner, where would we be without experts like him. Thanks again.

Having had Glaucoma for many years; was regularly seeing a consultant down south where was working. Change of main work location meant needed to find a local consultant and after review of profiles on the BMI website chose Mr Rahman. Have been seeing him now for past 3 years and know that I certainly made the right choice. Have found him an excellent knowledgeable consultant with a very understanding and caring patient manner. Whilst my pressures had remained under control; with deteriorating clarity of eyesight I was requiring cataract surgery to correct this. Mr Rahman patiently explained fully the procedure to me in detail. For something that was new to me I was of course nervous prior to the procedure; however I was soon put at ease. Whilst carrying out the procedure Mr Rahman continued to talk to me letting me know exactly what he was doing and how he was progressing and this together with the care from his supporting nursing team certainly made me relax. The whole procedure; which was painless; took no more than 15 minutes; and the following day when I removed the eye mask the difference in clarity of my vision was tremendous. I have since had a further reduction in my pressures which are now at a level not seen for many years. Thank you Mr Rahman; you are highly recommended from me.

Dr. Rahman performed cataract procedures on both my eyes. Throughout treatment he displayed reassuring levels of expertise, communicated with great clarity and tremendous warmth. His team worked efficiently with a total absence of pretension. I am beyond delighted with the outcome and feel a renewed joie de vivre with my eyesight restored.
