Good range of items but I had an encounter with the pharmacist today which was so unhelpful. She didn't want to listen to me at all and was just rude. Ended up leaving with nothing because she just didn't want to help or even try to understand

I was in Boots in St Albans, the reason for my visit was to smell the Berberry Goddess and Gucci Guilty perfumes. Having asked your employee a girl with bright white hair (sorry, I didn’t look up the name) to show me the perfume, she took out a bottle and loudly slammed it on the table in front of me and then left. She moved to the other side of the room and began looking at something on her phone. I was left standing alone near the display window, a minute later another employee came up to me and I asked her to do a sample of the aroma for me on paper sticks. She complied with my request. After the First Lady's action, I felt humiliated and second-class. This feeling was extremely unpleasant. I will buy Gucci Guilty perfume, but not from Boots.

I usually wear glasses and booked to have a contact lens trial as I would like to try them instead. On arrival, the appointment wasn’t booked properly so I was asked to return an hour later to have an eye test before the contact lens trial. Had my eye test (optician was a lovelylady and I have no problems with her at all) and was asked to take a seat while someone else would see me to discuss contact lenses. Was sitting there for around 10/15 minutes without being seen until another member of staff asked why. They went to find out and was told that I wouldn’t be seen and that I had to have a lesson on how to wear contacts before I could start the trial. This can’t happen for another week! So not only has my time been wasted for almost 3 hours, I’ve had to go home without glasses and without any contact lenses. Absolutely terrible service! I’ve been with Boots Opticians for years….I used to attend the branch in Richmond upon Thames and I can’t fault them at all. This St Albans branch is the worst service I’ve ever experienced!

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service I received at Boots St Albans yesterday. The staff Varsha ( sorry for typo if any) went above and beyond to assist me in finding the right products and providing helpful advice. Her knowledge and professionalism was truly remarkable. Thank you, Boots, for having such a fantastic team that makes shopping here a pleasure!

This is one of the larger Boots stores with extensive general goods on the ground floor with the pharmacy, opticians and health related products on the first floor accessed via lift or escalator.

The refit is terrible. Still a jammed in aisle layout so limited room to stop, browse and allow others to pass. The new floor finish actually appears more uneven and lower quality than it did before. The most inexplicable move is that the Pharmacy has been relocated upstairs, so sick people collecting prescriptions, elderly, mobility impaired people and those with push chairs now need to weave through the entire store and use the one lift (often out of order) or the one escalator. And then prepare to stand waiting at the pharmacy counter with your presence not even acknowledged for a considerable period of time. Some staff are absolutely lovely, but it is the marked contrast with others that make this notable.

Visited Boots yesterday and met two very helpful staff. Firstly at the Pharmacy by a lovely girl who went out of her way to help me. I also visited the No7 Counter where a another lovely girl helped and advised me on suitable make up for me. I am so pleased with the items I got, in the hope she reads this I got items the No7 offer box and lash entending mascara, all the products are really great .
