A great place with great food have been there a few times now and always have a great time the only drawback is there is a little wait on food but we do visit at busy times. (Saturday lunch time).

Booked the Himley for a 50th birthday meal. From the minute we arrived we were treated so warmly and professionally by the staff. Every meal was delicious. My husband tried a sample of a beer and the enjoyed it as advised by the very knowledgeable waiter. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. Excellent thank you. Our waitress Tarnya was brilliant, thank you.

Unfortunately this place is rapidly going down hill. Just been to a Father’s Day meal, pretty dire. The event sign on the way in was propped up by a vase of dead flowers in stagnant water, nice! There were signs on the door stuck on using “best before” stickers from the kitchen/food, real class! Staff walk pass you blank faced…no pleasantries, not a good welcome. When the food eventually came out, my children's simple burger was wrong, chicken when is was ordered as beef. The kids steak was inedible, really poor quality, my Sunday dinner was poor, undercooked vegetables and dry meat in a thick tar like gravy. I had to send food back and wait an age to get something remotely resembling a meal. Some of the waitresses serving the tables are trying but unfortunately the management doesn’t care, completely indifferent. Luckily one of the waitresses offered a discount on the bill, but if it wasn’t for her the manager appears completely oblivious to the needs of paying customers. What a car crash…and it’s not the first time, every time lately, whether busy or not something is sub standard. It’s a shame as it’s been our local for years but this place is now intolerable. If you want good food, pleasant attentive staff, decent standards and appreciation of your custom…then forget it, you won’t find such basics here!

This historic restaurant has a large spacious dining area inside as well as plenty of outside dining too. The menu is focused on pub food over fine dining however with steaks and burgers leading alongside other popular dishes like lasagne, fish & chips and gammon. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are too. Beer choices are good and there is an extensive wine list. For us service started out well, but slowed as it got closer to the end of the evening, culminating in us having to go and ask to get the card machine so that we could pay the bill that had been given to us 20 minutes prior. As a venue for dinner it's ideal, but the unsophisticated menu sadly doesn't match the historic surroundings.

Went for Sunday lunch today. Not the best experience staff were not very professional. They walked past us as we were waiting to be seated, no welcoming greeting at all more like they were doing us a favour. The table had joints in it which were full of food debris from previous diner's, not agood start. There was no time to read the menu before we were being asked what we'd like to eat. When the desert menus came there was a waitress right behind the one who gave us the menu asking what we would like ,my wife hadn't even had time to put her glasses on to read what was available. One of my pet hates is over cooked vegetables these were cooked to within an inch of there lives all soft and mushy and mainly frozen peas, I had 1 piece of both carrot and broccoli very poor quality. I asked if they did cheese and biscuits to be told no they don't but lots of people ask for it but we don't do it, well if there's a demand for it why don't you include it on the menu it doesn't take rocket science to plate it up. A profit and upselling opportunity missedOverall, it was a very poor experience we won't be going back there again.

Attended late on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised they still had a few meats available for the sunday roast. Beef was a little dry but what could we expect for so late in the day. Everything else was great. Pub is located in a fantastic period building, I just feel it’s looking a little tatty in areas. Will keep this place in mind for future meals out.

Sadly the worst Sunday roast ever.Turkey was like it was pressed or microwaved , the cranberry sauce was liquid with 4 cranberries floating in it Only vegetables were peas and carrots.Very disappointing. However, staff and desserts very good.

Love roast dinner , extra pigs in blankets were delicious. Easy park up and it was fairly quiet. Booked on line.
