For a night or sometimes longer I’d moved cushions or chairs around in an effort to call them home for a time while travelling. Hotels use words like amenities to describe why one room is different or better. They can’t predict what you like - so they make it your job to know what will make you happy - it’s all on you. In this way, hotels miss the point of what comfort, relaxation and genuine happiness away from home really is.Stoneymollan provides that sense of home and luxury on arrival. It’s hard to explain but you’ll find out. What you really need is all around you and reveals itself to you subtly.The smell of burning whisky barrel staves in the hot tub. The way your skin feels and smells when you return to your lodge. Rising from the 40degree hot tub into the cold night air and the swirl of essential oils like peppermint and eucalyptus around your skin and into your nose as you inhale crisp fresh air.The playful touches that encourage you to explore when walking beside a stream you find bottled beers placed there by the owner with a note, T-R-A-N-Q-U-I-L-O.Within a few hours here you realise this place has no natural boundaries; you are unbound by rules or expectations. Here you have permission to stop thinking about the person you must be everyday. This might be the closest thing to freedom there is.By the time you leave Stoneymollan, you’ll just get it. There’s only one place in the world like this and in that place, there’s only two lodges. I’m coming back.

Spent an absolutely amazing 2 nights at stoneymollan at the end of July. We had the pod with the hot tub. Our hosts Brian and Gillian couldn't have done any more for us. My wife who hasn't been to Scotland before was given an example of Scottish hospitality at its finest. Took Brians advice and went for a stroll to the top of the hill to enjoy thebmost amazing view of loch lomond and the islands. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Scotland. Stoneymollan is magical from the moment you drive up the lane until the moment you leave. You get the best greeting from their big pup on arrival. Brian and Gillian live right beside the pods and are on hand to offer plenty of local recommendations from restaurants & takeaways to lovely walks around the area. The hot tub was amazing especially in the cold weather, the Sauna was also fantastic and has the most beautiful view from it and the pod we stayed in was very clean and spacious and the tv had netflix. We loved it so much we have booked to come back again in 3 weeks!

Picturesque perfect pods!Me and my wife stayed here for a weekend get away and it was amazing. Hosts were lovely and very welcoming. The pod/cabin was very well kitted out with underfloor heating and an extremely comfy bed. We had also booked the wood fired hot tub and we were unfortunately blessed with typical Scottish weather of rain which made me worry it may not go ahead but it did and honestly once you're in it you really don't care its raining. Note though remember to bring sandals we forgot to do that and ended up with some soggy feet lol. 5/5 will be visiting again!

What a start to our honeymoon! Brian & Gillian were fantastic hosts and made us feel so welcome. The view from the hot tub is truly incredible. Highly recommended

Absolutely amazing place! Me and my partner had the best time here and will definitely be back. Lots of little bonuses from the hosts and they just make you feel so welcome. Can't recommend enough.

We had an excellent 4-night stay back in may. We were given an incredibly warm welcome and the hospitality of Gillian and Brian is unmatched. The pods may be small but they’re very cozy and have everything you need (and more). There are amazing hiking trails immediately surrounding the pods and breathtaking spots easily accessible by public transport or car.All in all we enjoyed our stay immensely and are looking forward to coming back :)

It is very difficult to make a comment about this place with limited characters. A novel could be written about it. It should be evaluated from two different perspectives. Bungalows and hosts. The bungalows were the best I've ever seen. The interior is very smart and romantically decorated. There is everything you need. There's even a wireless speaker for a romantic ambiance. Everything in it is selected from quality brands. Underfloor heating works perfectly. Especially in a highland, the pleasure of bathing in a hot tube was like a dream. The hosts Gillian and Brian are excellent people. Whenever you need anything, they take care of it right away. They even brought two pairs of Hunter boots so we could move around comfortably. I have never met such a hospitable host. Brian drove us to and from places for some of our needs at no charge several times. Her little daughter Georgie has just started painting and is such a sweet girl that you should definitely visit their home painting studio. You won't be able to get enough of watching the view here. Even though it's been days, we are still under its influence. I definitely recommend it.
