The church is currently closed most of the time. Set in a large park area of Shoeburyness.Also there is a mini conservation area with a couple of ponds with some wild life.Parking for quite a few cars so you can enjoy a walk around the huge grassed area next door to Asda...

St Mary The Virgin Parish Church
St Mary the Virgin church is a Grade ll listed building.The currentchurch dates back to the 1230s although it is considered to be the third church on the site; the original church dating back into Saxon times. Chancel is c.1230 whilst the south aisle was added to the Nave c.1250 and the lowest part of the tower later that century. The south porch was added in the C18th.The church is not normally open to visitors.

St Mary The Virgin Parish Church
My father has been interred at this church (not my choice) since May 1993. I have just been to place some flowers on the anniversary of his death to find the plaque marking his grave gone, along with quite a few others. I realise these are removed when the grass is cut but it would be fantastic if they could be replaced afterwards so we know were our dead relatives are. Thanks.
