We visited this store first thing in the morning. We knew what we wanted (a vacuum cleaner), we just needed to decide which one and buy it.There were members upstairs chatting, one of them was even saying how much she couldn’t wait to retire and never have to come back there to work... very, very unprofessional and not the type of conversation to be having on the shop floor, whether you have customers near you, or not.The 2 women/staff members were standing right next to the vacuum cleaners (in the aisle/area) and not once did either of them ask if we needed any help or advice. We even had to ask them to move so we could see the vacuums that they were standing next to. They said “Sorry” and moved a little, that was it!!So my husband and I studied the information on the boxes and labels, and worked out which one would suit us best.It would have been a lot easier and a much more pleasant experience had we been at least offered help or advice.The staff were still chatting when we had decided on a product.My husband picked up the large box and took it downstairs to pay.Not once were we asked if the staff could take it to the till for us or anything.It was a big, heavy box and to not even be offered help was very disappointing.We got to the tills and the member of staff behind the counter looked like he’d just woken up. He was civil, barely polite but not exactly rude. Maybe he was a little anxious (I felt sorry for him, he definitely seemed to need some confidence building, whether by staff training or what). Equally, it wasn’t the usual“Good morning, how are you? How can I help you? Is there anything else you need?” etc etc.There was no one else in the queue for the checkouts and no other customers anywhere near actually, so he had all the time in the world to start a conversation, however small.Anyway, we paid and left and that was it.Had we been offered help, there were more sections we could have looked in and you could even have made a further sale or 2, but by the time we’d chosen our vacuum cleaner and got the box, my husbands hands were full and so we just went to the till.I understand as soon as you open, there are things that may need doing but I’ve worked in retail for a lot of my life and I’ve never been ignored like this before or treated a customer the same as we were treated. I would always make sure the customer came first no matter what I needed to do work wise.Your customers are the reason you’re all getting paid. It may be worth a little more staff training?!Apart from all that though, the whole shop was generally very clean and tidy. In fact the cleaner was still there cleaning the glass on the stairs, which was refreshing to see, especially when there are some nasty viruses going around.The products were all labelled well (the one’s we looked at anyway), and generally the store was in a clean, tidy and refreshing state.For those wanting to visit, as you can see in my photos they do have a customer lift. So if you are disabled this shop is disabled friendly.

When you don’t need someone they’re all over you, but when you do they are nowhere to be seen.Bought a tumble dryer and paid for a time slot - 11-3pm. It turned up 3 hours late! No courtesy call to let me know. Took 45 mins just to be able to find a way to actually speak to someone. They then kept changing the excuse. Not impressed with the lady who deals with the deliveries but the driver who did end up delivering it, didn’t ring 30 minutes before to tell me they’re on way. Finally.Currys need to sort it out.

Poor service and lies to avoid price matching.When I walked in, a group of five workers stood together chatting. One came to ask if we needed help but couldn't help us so he returned to the group.No one else helped us so I had to approach another worker to ask for help.He then refused a price match despite showing evidence of stock, model number, price and date and told me to get a coupon online.When I messaged their online helpline, they told me they can't give out coupons for in store purchases. I was lied to so they didn't have to price match.

When you go to the store you will see more store workers than customers. But it is strange there will be no one to help customers.I don't want to go too much into specifics . But I almost bought some electronics on Currys online. The product was very expensive, so I wanted to double check something in store as Currys online missed a few details.After going to the store . I decided to buy it on Amazon instead.It is a shame. If this carries on this way eventually they will put off all customers walking into the store and as a business it will become purely online and loss of another high street electronics store.

I came in today to buy a shelf to go in-between my washing machine and tumble dryer. I waited until a young chap had finished helping another customer and then asked for some guidance on where I might find it.He was about to look it up on the system for me when an older female colleague came over and told him he shouldn’t be helping me. That she has a queue of customers waiting and he needs to go and help one of them first.I was extremely disappointed, not only the way she spoke to him but also how rude it was to me as a customer. The young chap then apologised to her and went over to the other side of the store to help a lady whilst the woman who told him to leave then wanted to assist us.I explained just how rude it was, coming from my experience in working customer service but she just said that he wasn’t supposed to be helping people without checking with her first. So much for service with a smile.When she then went to guide us to the product we wanted another young colleague came across to get something and she reminded him in front of me that once he was done with his customer to come straight to her to tell him who to help first. This was extremely condescending.I felt truly sorry for her colleagues and the way she was treating them, just from the interactions I witnessed I wouldn’t be surprised if she is reported for bullying. Looking at our receipt it says we were served by ‘20 Ellis’ I do hope this matter is sorted before you lose more customers. This whole interaction made me feel incredibly unwelcome in your store.

Ordered a Samsung galaxy watch after talking to a helpful assistant about the diffences between models. Had to order my watch as it wasn't available in store which arrived in two days as promised. If I have any problems with purchases it's far easier to talk to currys in person in the store rather than doing an online purchase with an unknown vendor and trying to get aftersales help from them.

Probably the best Curry's store I have been to. Huge store spread across two floors. An abundance of choice in electronics and household goods. Lots of staff on hand ready to help too. Really good.

Nice large Currys. Plenty of electronics to look at and has plenty of space to manoeuvre. Has an upstairs too. There are stairs and a lift available for upstairs.
