Wigan Golf Club

We held my husband's 60th Birthday party here in May 2023 and the venue was simply perfect. Beautiful rooms and grounds, and the Golf Club staff were so nice and helpful, they couldn't do enough for us. We used the Golf Club's catering done by the lovely Liz Duncan which was fabulous, everyone commented on how tasty the food was and there was a great variety of food and desserts. Thank you to all for making my husband's birthday so special and a night to remember. We can highly recommend Wigan Golf Club as a venue for your party/celebration.

Absolutely stunning building and surroundings. We recently hired the golf club for a private function, the members all made us feel very welcome and the staff were extremely attentive. The bar and events manager, Brandon made sure everything ran smoothly and was very sensitive and understanding about our needs and wishes his team were all friendly and helpful going above and beyond to make sure everything was just as we needed. Josh was extremely patient and professional when greeting us all with tea and coffee on arrival to the bar staff who handled the bar and serving drinks for a toast to a large group easily, were very friendly. During the evening when the lower part of the building wasn't being used they put children's TV on in a separate room to entertain the smaller ones. The chef also cut up bits of food so that the children could feed the wildlife on site.The food he prepared for our guests was outstanding, plenty of food on the buffet but the attention to specific dietary requirements was again above and beyond expectations. The whole service couldn't be faulted from our initial meeting to look around the venue to going back the next day to collect things their warmth and attention to detail was flawless. Thank you to Brandon and all staff and golf members that we met throughout our booking, for making sure the celebration of our Dad's life was as smooth and as beautiful as it possibly could be.

Superb, lovely course, great clubhouse and such a welcome we received when I held my golf day on 11th August 2023. All the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to Stacey and the director of golf for accommodating more players at last minute. Lovely food and such a lovely landscaped garden area. Would 100% recommend a visit.

Recently visited as a group and had a fabulous day. The course was excellent given the recent weather conditions. The hospitality and food provided by Liz and her team was second to none. Can’t wait to return!

The term hidden Gem gets used a lot but this is definitely hidden and its definitely a gem. The club has a great setting with a long single track drive from the main road through the course to a stunning clubhouse that has a moat with Black Swans on it. The staff were fantastically helpful and friendly. The course starts with a really tough 200+ yard par 3 (play for the front edge wherever the pin is). The course is a really enjoyable layout, not a tough walk or overly long and it was in very good condition.

Lovely golf club with wonderful club house with its own moat. Call in for a bacon sandwich or warming drink from the wonderful bar and catering staff. The course can be testing unless you can keep it straight you don't need to be a big boomer.

Traditional 11th century building. With a moat and two black swans. Lawned Garden sitting area . very peaceful.
