Gosport Borough Council

Just been into council department to say we move out 1st April but havnt sold the house yet. Told we have to pay full council tax until we sell. We will also be paying New Forest District Council. I expect nothing less from GBC

Very unhelpful, full of dictatorial demands. No pots or flowers in the communal scrub land. Cannot dry washing outside. No for sale or to rent signs. Tried to get a parking permit (which I have to pay £20.00 for) for a mobility car can’t issue as have no vehicle documents, despite the fact I had the out of date parking permit which stated the car registration no on. No chairs allowed in the outside space. Had two keys allocated to us for a place to put a mobility scooter in. Neither of them worked. Sent someone out because of cigarette buts on the ground. Locked gates in the rubbish area. Which makes it difficult for someone with mobility issues. When you do complain nothing is done about. Scaffolding set up for cladding erected too close to our apartment which let rain water spill into my living room. Took two years to get it sorted. I have been around for 75 years and have never had any problems with Councils until we moved into GBC territory. Worse decision we ever made. If I could give it no stars I would.

Terrible experience with them! Dealing with a neighbour hitting my walls day and night. Despite having recorded evidence, the neighbour's were able to just lie and say it was floorboards and the wind!!!

Do GBC actually do anything about dumped vehicles with no tax ?

Waste if space. Contacted the environmental health twice regarding a complaint of pollution thay cannot even be bothered to acknowledge the complaint.

A big Thank you to Gosport Council.We put our bin out Boxing Day evening as usual but for some reason the refuse men missed us. As the week went on we realised we had been missed and it was not just that the collection was late.Phoned the council this morning and a lovely lady said someone would collect it but not sure which day.Well it is 13.00 and it has just been collected.Totally brilliant service so Thank You to the council.

I have just been to the Gosport council Tip with bags of soil from my garden . There was no one around to ask which bin i had to place it in so started to put it in the garden waste . After emptying 4 bags only then did someone come and tell me i had to take it to the rubble bin instead . With that i was told by the guy sat on his backside that i would have to pay as it was rubble when i explain it was NOT Rubble just soil was told basically i would have to pay as it was not there fault but it was the council fault Why is SOIL classed as Rubble it is a natural substance not brick or stones ?.

Lovely the answer:can't repair because don't have people, waiting 19 months and for 19 months didn't have people.Please stop lying people.After visit council I can’t believe they have always good explanations they think the people who come are idiots they better then Harry Potter , first time when move in 10 years ago on council flat they said: renew communal garden and put new bins etc. the answer is the best why they not done this first time they said paper are ready only put signature and they can start, later came covid lockdown after lockdown they said money disappear if money disappear that’s mean somebody take if somebody take that’s mean somebody stolen but that’s nothing, we go to council ask about swap because child born and we said to women how swap because HomeSwapper is sh….. she said we can buy this flat where we living now and she not listening my wife said there not good time to take loan ( my wife finish Business Accounting on University of Portsmouth) but she again say take loan and buy I came talk about swap not buy next time when come I start recording our conversation because hard believe what they saying normal go to newspaper and say how they’re wonderful I think half people who working in Gosport council be fired because is waste money

Worst council I have ever lived under. They are incredibly inefficient, and use constant delay tactics on the energy rebate. Avoid.

Financial cuts are NO EXCUSE for incivility. When it comes to customer focus and human interaction; this council is operating in the dark ages. The core staff of GBC is riddled with bitterness and cynicism. This jaded and exclusive group of mediocre administrators, will never contribute truly to Gosport’s regeneration.
